I don’t think anyone holds a candle to him in playing “Over the Top!”

Between Zorg from “The Fifth Element” and Stansfield in “The Professional,” he can be overwhelming. But it’s done in a way that actually complements the movie.

At the same time, he can play subtle very well. In fact, he’s able to completely disappear into his roles. He was amazing in “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.” I thought he absolutely nailed the character of “Sirius Black” in the Harry Potter series, where he played both over the top and subtle over a couple of movies.

I LOVED him in “Immortal beloved”.

Since I suffer from hearing loss, and am a musician, I was overwhelmed by his portrayal of Beethoven, especially this scene:
