Fine here in middle Tennessee. Must be a local outage.
Fine here is SoCal.
“”I am up and running here OTP in Gwinnett County...””
We’re in Gwinnett also - what is OTP? I am afraid I am going to have to face facts that it’s my computer. I had to refresh the page several times to even get this reply written.. I have looked up a lot of hints online about slow/quirky running computers but I don’t dare try any of the steps..I might cause myself more trouble.
“”computer buy “”
How about computer guy???????
Outside the perimeter, the perimeter being I-285.
My pc has been terrible for 2 days with Comcast - some websites I can get into after 20 seconds and other websites I can’t get into at all..
after rebooting router and modem, cleaning, clearing, looking for updates, etc, I finally called Comcast to see if they were having DNS issues, even after trying other DNS addresses..
They swear that they can see my problem is an old obsolete modem - and will mail me a new one - but in the meantime, I tested pinging addresses I can get into and those I can’t..
eg., I can ping and tracert all the way thru to www.freerepublic.com
but cannot ping/tracert to www.abebooks.com - it drops at one backbone in NYC...
Shadow, what do you think?

Well, I also have Comcast, and I am not seeing anything abnormal with my connection. Perhaps it’s a local/regional issue.

Thanks...that solves that. It’s definitely a term I’ve heard a lot since we got here. We came here from CA 10 years ago and we don’t get out much - except locally to doctor’s appointments and grocery store. The fun of retirement!
I have to learn to stop asking people where such and such is as even after they tell me, I’m still in the dark. Have only been on I-85 when we arrived here and then a couple of times to the airport. I see a mishmash of highways and have a rough idea what I-285 means.
I find it astounding that CA as large as it is has something like 55 counties in contrast to GA and its size with 157...Does anyone here know where they all are?
I grew up in Orange County, been 20 years now in Atlanta. Georgia is one of the larger states in the eastern US, and of course has a lot of natural beauty.
Enjoy your retirement...

Small world. We moved here from OC (Irvine) - 35 years there and as many in Sacramento. We had a flying club at John Wayne Airport for years. I never became a pilot..as I told “left that other site”, I lacked courage then and NOW!
My husband was a native Californian (L. A.) and I moved to CA from upstate NY in the late ‘50’s...at the young age of 21, I had courage then or was just plain dumb! It was OK tho’ as I never returned.
Still miss CA - difficult to leave what relatives were still living and good friends. Hard to get used to calling GA “home”. Our daughter is here and we have a grandson so it’s been worth it!
Still having computer problems.....
