FULL TITLE: Fears grow for Texas girl, 15, who left a goodbye note to her parents and vanished with her passport after connecting with an older 'predator' from California on Snapchat
The family of a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday fear she may be with a much older man she met on Snapchat.
Heaven Ray Cox from Mauriceville, Texas vanished on Saturday afternoon.
Her parents said it was usual for the teenager to sleep in late at the weekend, but when they went to check on her she was gone.
They now fear she may have been abducted or ran away by a man she met on social media, the Beaumont Enterprise reports.
Police were notified of her disappearance on November 26 and are working to assess the potential connection with the unidentified predator.
Heaven's mother, Tammy, has posted on Facebook about her daughter's disappearance.
She wrote: 'The man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend.

” app called Kik,”
I’ve heard of this and not good things even for adults.
Pop my cherry.com
I can figure what that was about.
Cell phones are a neutral thing it’s how they are used. Just like I said how many pay phones do you see anymore? You don’t. If you kid is stranded how’s he gonna call you? How you gonna call them? Pay phones no more because of cell phones. I see a few in my area but not like in the old days before cell phones.
Plus should there be a disaster at your kids school? Yea you wanna call them right then and there to make sure they okay, and can you blame parents? Obama brought in these muslims now we have trouble until Trump gets rid of them.
Just have to keep up on what the kids view and who their friends are. Know who they are calling and why. Look at their phone and check numbers. You pay the bill after all.
“Flip phone can serve that purpose. “
For now yes but AT&T is phasing those out or did you not know this?
My kids coaches and school uses apps and text for communication, schedules and homework.
A flip phone would not work.
I do random surprise checks on the phone weekly.
We also check every number called or texted to their phones.
We have a home alarm system, yappy dogs that bite strangers, and an arsenal that would make a small county jealous.
And more importantly, the will to use it.
Wow. Really? Was that written by a 7th grader? Wouldn't an educated person write that sentence a bit differently?
"They now fear she may have been abducted by, or has run away with, a man she met on social media..."
BSR: I’m with you. So tired of miserable language butchery rampant in published material.
Another one is missing for about a month. She is from Beaumont which
is the next to Vidor on IH-10.
The mother of a missing Beaumont girl said after nearly a month without
her daughter, she needs help spreading the word about her disappearance.

Autumn Rice, 15, has not been seen since she left for
school Oct. 30, Beaumont police said.
If there is one thing the FBI is still good at, it’s going after and finding scumbags like this guy. They will find him. If he has taken her across a state line, they will throw him in a Federal penitentiary for a very long time.
I hate to say it but you really have to teach a certain degree of cynicism and distrust to your kids at a very young age. You can start by helping the youngsters to analyze advertising that is directed toward them. Humans use many of the same techniques and worse. Online friends was a difficult subject with our daughter years ago and little has changed. Youve got to be tough to survive and an addiction to make believe can be literally fatal.
Like I said from what have been told AT&T will be phasing those out.
I wonder if that applies if she crosses all the state lines on her own.
I’ve never practiced in the Federal area, only state, but my guess is that if he solicited her to cross a state line, he can still go to Federal Court, not pass go, and collect 200 years. The typical MO in these cases though is that the predator goes to the victim. It’s about control, and they want to exert control immediately.
Shout out to the Texas ping list. Missing teenager from the Beaumont area, possibly conned by a FB stranger.
Has an Amber Alert been issued yet?
By the way, why do so many of these alerts center around the Beaumont/Port Arthur/Baytown area? Seriously, they’re about 70% of them.
It’s because editing is dead.
Alternatively a parent can actually learn to use technology.
A phone can have surveillance and blocking software installed which requires a biometric key to alter.
AT&T is still selling them on their website.
Yes, auto-correct will save me! Or not...
