Meghan Markle has finally found her Prince Charming - but it has come at a huge cost, with the American actress forced to give up on many of her passions.
Prince Harry's fiancee had to make the heartbreaking decision to leave behind her beagle Bogart after moving to the UK to start her new life, as the pet is thought to be too old to fly overseas.
The 36-year-old has also given up on her career as an actress so she can take up full royal commitments in Britain, bringing an end to her run as Rachel Zane in the hit series Suits, the show which brought her to prominence.
While set in New York, Suits was filmed in Toronto and it is believed Miss Markle was finding it hard to juggle her relationship with Harry and her demanding schedule on the show.
Kensington Palace confirmed that Miss Markle's new role would also force her to give up her charity work with the United Nations, plus her role as patron at organisations including World Vision Canada and One Young World.

I definitely think I could find a way to be “suited” to marry into the Royals. If I were and didn’t like it, I would keep my mouth shut and enjoy Balmoral, Windsor Castle KP and all the other fabulous stuff that goes along with it.
Kate and William had a beautiful Christian marriage ceremony. I wonder what these 2 will have.
A good tranquilizer and a large cage and the poor old thing will have a good snooze on his way to England.
Well looks like Meghan certainly does....for now.
And your uneducated, childish, delusional, opinion, is laughable at best!
Im not sure Id give all that up to be trapped into the royal family. But Im a bit sour on marriage.
.
Acting is a decidedly self diminishing way of life.
Actors never succeed in establishing a self.
.
she’s only recently begun the biggest acting job of her life, so she is not giving up her acting at all.
Like a few others on here, if the wedding happens the marriage won’t last long, or will go on unhappy for a while.
Yeah. Bet Harry doesn’t want the burden of ruling. He’d rather party.
You know, you once were a decent poster here, I enjoyed many of your replies. But, you’ve changed over the past year or two, now you’re combative, rude, a total know-it-all and very nasty, seeming to live for lengthy late night crowing sessions about just how very cultured, smart and accomplished you are. You do realize that this is rather self-evident if so, and honking incessantly about it only proves the opposite, I assume. You’re often wrong despite your own assurances that such a thing is just not possible.
You really should go have these personality changes checked out by medical professionals. My father passed away in 2008 but in the years of his decline leading up to that he had a series of “mini-strokes” or transient ischemic attacks (TIA). His personality changed, too.
The old generation is passing and Meghan will get to redefine the role as she pleases. The monarchy was always at risk of being outdated and irrelevant. And Diana’s death was cause for much reflection.
They got their 1st breath of fresh air in awhile when William wed Kate, who have abandoned much protocol already - and now the institution is even more “updated” with Harry’s engagement. Unlike the other former rival monarchies of Europe, the British one has managed to adapt to the needs of the people they serve while still being rooted in tradition. I see many years ahead for it at this rate.
As for Meghan, there are yearbook photos of her as homecoming *queen* and quotes from former peers who described her as serious about service, and charismatic even in high school. This was her destiny if you ask me.
Put it a better way, the monarchy is a disaster for England. If I were English, I’d say ‘Off with their heads!” Long overdue in my opinion.
Could be intentional. Years ago after high school I recall telling my dad in reaction to his blatant racism that if I ever brought someone home to meet she’d be black, Chinese, or a Mexican.
LOL!
Have to back a bit to get that.
I reply in kind and so, "IF" I sound "combative", or dismissal, or perhaps even "rude", it's because I give back double ( just like Trump ! ), what I get first.
Those posters who claim that I "toot my own horn"/pat myself on the back, are those who feel intimidated by my posts/just disagree with the facts I post; nothing more and nothing less. I don't claim to know everything ( I'm the first one to say that I don't and that the more I know, the more I need to know about any given topic! ); never have done, never shall do.
Oh this particular topic, I have been, since I was a small child, interested in the kings and queens of Europe, so read up on all of them; for as far back as I could and as far forward, as the present day.
Coming from an Anglophilic family, of course I gravitated towards all things English and the Brit monarchy. A life long interest that I continue to keep up with. Present day occurences are just tomorrow's history, after all.
I would have appreciated your "concern" about my health ( which is probably far better than you imagine ), if it wasn't just another backhanded impugnation and slur.
Sorry to hear about your father...truly I am! My much belated condolences; it is never easy to lose a parent.
The Brits love muzzies
Wedding will be held at Saint George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in May. Meghan has agreed to be baptized and confirmed into the Church of England in the lead up.
Diana's death wasn't the disaster; it was her being forced on Charles that was!
The "first breath of fresh air" was supposedly Charles marrying Diana and his brother, "Randy ( if you don't know, look up what that means in Brit slang) Andy", marrying Fergie! LOL...and just look at how those 2 marriages worked out and those 2 "English Roses" knew what it was all about, which Miss Markle does not!
If you want to talk about even earlier non-Royals married to a Brit Royal, Queen Elizabeth's mother was an Aristo, but NOT a "ROYAL", ditto the present Duchess Michael of Kent and many, many, many others. And then, there's always Bertie's elder brother, who married the twice divorced American Wallis Simpson and lost the crown.
Oh yooooooooooo hoooo....never heard about the marriages of other European Royals, have you?
Monaco's princesses and princesses have married commoners, nobodies, and divorced many times over, from Rainier on down through his children and grandchildren.
Then there are the Royals of Denmark and Sweden; to name but two modern European Royal Houses where they married commoners or minor aristos.
OTOH...the so-called "RIVALS" of the Brit Royals are, for the most part, long gone and over & done with. France, Germany, and Russian haven't had a king, Kaiser, or Tsar for at least 100 years and in some instances far longer.
Totally inappropriate to play doctor online with someone you have never met. After that kind of remark, you’re in no position to call someone else rude.
