Saw the lede.
Then took my guess as to the source to check.
Bingo.
Ergo, no need to even read the article.
What a time saver.

“I want to be one of the females to prove to everybody else that just because you’re a female, doesn’t mean you can’t do the same things as a male,” she said, describing her brother — an infantry soldier — as motivation. “I also wanted to one-up him.”

Going to war isn't about one-upping the next guy. Go on patrol all day with a 100 pound ruck in 110 degree weather day after day and get back to us. I'll bet she doesn't make it two hours on patrol before the guys are going to have to carry her load.

I'd like to see her stand on the edge of the bath tub and pee in the toilet like I can do.

I would not want to serve with or anywhere near this individual. With her, it's about "ME ME ME", not about the mission or the unit. She's trouble. Showoffs (and that's what she is) get themselves killed ... which is bad enough. They get other people killed, too. That's unacceptable.

A total embarrassment of a once great Army. Can anyone imagine her rooting Japs out of caves on Okinawa?

I can prove the opposite from where I'm sitting.

This isn't an academic exercise and when she screws up due to decision making or lack of strength I'm guessing she won't take the blame.

An infantry soldier is a heavily armed pack mule.

yup, as Clint Eastwood suggested as the character Harry Callahan in a Dirty Harry movie: “What do you think this is some kind of encounter group?” The character was pointing out there as some things we are all “not equal at”.

Watching an episode of Live PD the other night, three coppers were faced with a guy who had to be about 6'6’’ or better. Fortunately he was of good spirits and did not put up a fight because the two male coppers were about a half foot shorter and a good deal lighter than he was. The female officer, was at best about 5'5’’ and standing behind one of the male guys at least a feet shorter and 100 lb lighter. IMO, and I have been in my tussles over my life span, she would have had no chance short of using a shot gun to take this guy down had he been belligerent.

Eventually a large enough number of women will be killed and maimed and this pc experiment will be closed. It will end sooner if women are compelled to register for selective service and the combat arms become a requirement and not a “career option” for women.

“More than 36 percent of Benning’s women have left — about twice the rate of men. Injuries have sidelined other women who plan to restart the training...While male recruits often get ankle sprains and dislocated shoulders, women are prone to stress fractures in their hips.

Half of the women, Kendrick said, weigh less than 120 pounds (54 kilograms), but all the recruits carry the same 68 pounds (31 kilograms) of gear.”

Now....just how many days, months and years will someone weighing less than 120 lbs stand up to carrying 70 lbs AND MORE regularly? Particularly when WEEKS of training is already causing double the injuries.

I weighed 145 pounds at the end of my training at MCRD in San Diego and it was solid muscle. I actually gained almost 20 pounds in 11 weeks. Double rations and vigorous strength training did it. Then I hit AIT and carried a 65 pound ruck almost constantly.

Even in peak physical condition it was difficult.

Males inherent instincts are to protect females...In a combat situation, the attention of the male could be distracted from the objective because of this and endanger not only his life, but that of his teammates...

Oh, so men and women are not identical! But I thought they were the same-just different gender assignments! Why are different facilities needed? How can there be “one up” if there are no sexes?

It’s all very confusing, listening to liberals-they are full of contradictions!

OTOH, there are jobs in the military which women can potentially excel at doing. I had a high school classmate who became a cracker jack tank mechanic.

She grew up as a farm girl (no brothers) repairing farm machinery because her Dad was large and not very dexterious with his hands. Her appitude, background and small size made her perfect for the job. But she was more interested in just doing her job than in 'one-upping' the men in her unit.

Princess Elizabeth (before she became Queen) had a similar experience during World War II, albeit from an entirely different background. There is a famous story about the Land Rover that she and Prince Phillip were driving around in breaking down somewhere in the Scotland Highlands sometime in the 1960s and she crawls under it and fixes the problem while her husband simply handed her the tools.

The injury rates and related subsequent costs to the VA for treating female military members is considerably higher then for men.
