I was watching a tv show just last night that covered 3 girls in a town in Iowa bordering Illinois talking about how hard it has been for them and their families growing up in the last 8 years during the “great recession.”

These stories are interesting to me because the msm is too stupid to realize the disconnect. The msm will show these stories regarding the damage to families due to the “great recession” and then without missing a beat, the msm will tell how great Obama has been for the economy.

Oh, I appreciate your story. I think if we could learn the stories of many homeless people, we would find that the people they once were are not who they are now.


I used to work for a food bank, and we have our share of street people/homeless shelter volunteers. One man, a quiet little man who came in to sweep the floors because he couldn't lift crates or push hand trucks, was such a man.

One day, the man died in his little make-shift tent. He had some belongings: a sort-f scrapbook, letters, and, of course, many empty cheap-wine bottles.

We also found that the man was once a high-priced, in-demand attorney from Chicago. One day, his wife with their children in their van was going through an intersection with the green light. A driver tee-boned the van, killing all of them.

The man began to drink huge amounts. lost his practice, and stumbled out of Chicago on his way west.

It would be easy for us to criticize the man, accusing him of not having character or gravitas. But none of us probably have gone through his experience, nor have we lost the certification papers entitling us to work in our professions or jobs.

It takes time to demolish the aberrant structures built up under Obama by banks and their hedge fund cronies freed of Glass-Steagall and given virtual free reign under the look-the-other-way presidency of GW Bush.

Trump signed an extremely significant directive in late February this year, a directive that received no press coverage but there is a YouTube video of him signing it and remarking that it seemed like a small thing but “I guarantee you this is a very big, big thing”.

That directive was to direct Treasury to shut down the fund flow from the Fed’s emergency liquidity facilities for the TBTF banks that was really an attorney jobs program. Shutting that down forces financial crooks to pay their own bills and when they are confronted with that, layoffs within their firms ensue. In sum, President Trump is shutting off the funding spigot to the bank frauds.

In history, it’s always been the case that bank robbers were usually found to be outside the banking system with rare inside jobs occurring. The Obama years saw grow the insider white collar crime with all manner of scams and cons. The victims were middle-class homeowners, they were the prey.

I am asked often why Trump hired Mnuchin because Mnuchin was very close to the fraud described above but at a subsidiary mezzanine level. I don’t really know but I hope it’s because the President wants people with inside knowledge of how the fraud schemes were pulled off and still today are occurring but hopefully winding down.

Just as we all have a unique soul, we all also have our own story. The one you related about that former attorney is sobering.

This will probably sound tacky, but there is a song Elvis did (or covered) that I play now and then called "Walk a Mile in My Shoes". It is a simple song, but it relates a worthwhile sentiment.

I can say from experience with several vets that it is damned near impossible to get the DoD or VA to help with lost papers. Literally starting a Congressional investigation is sometimes the only way.

This young man will have several paychecks under his belt before he gets his DD13 or DD214. It is a true nightmare dealing with these bureaucracies. Maybe the publicity will help expedite ..

I was a Finance Clerk (73-C) many years ago. Knowing the importance of paperwork, my DD-214 was copied into county records, plus the original and multiple notarized copies are in my fire resistant safe. I have every single LES from my 20+ years in the military. I do need to file my retirement papers with the courthouse along with my NGB-22, but that’s not really a big deal as long as the DD-214 is there.

If there’s no paper, it doesn’t exist.
