The right time to eat Thanksgiving dinner is 4pm.
This gives the host enough time to prepare all the things they left until the last minute like the tossed salad no one wants and the cranberry sauce no one eats. It gives them enough time to decide at the last minute to make a green bean casserole because theyve had a panic that theres not going to be enough food.

Arrive at noon, eat at 1pm/1:30pm, depending on when all the food is ready and is on the table. Some folks leave at 2:30/3pm to go visit others. No politics as this is a day of unity not divisiveness.
Sorry but gotta say this. Great! Another asshat telling me how to conduct my life. Bugger off.
We forgot to buy =cranberry sauce. One of the kids noticed and ran out himself to get some, cause we actually like it. Both kinds
4 pm is when our family has always had Thanksgiving dinner, and Christmas and Easter dinner as well. I always thought it had something to do with football.
2pm
Good morning.
“My Vermont raised wife says dinner is after the hunters return home.”
That’s what my Virginia raised wife says too.

I found out yesterday that the inlaws scheduled Thanksgiving for 1 PM. Sounds like Brunch to me.
Show up at 3, grill is fired up at 4. Dinner between 4:45-5:00. Usually eat at halftime of the Cowboy game, but this year, who knows?
I’m in favor of the later meal as it allows Liberal minded relatives who have pets to take care of at home a chance to eat and get lost before the sun goes down or the political talks begin.
And nothing symbolizes George Washington’s day of prayer like gambling.
That's what they call those meals in Oklahoma--and probably Ohio as well. A girl I knew who was born in Ohio called the noon and evening meals dinner and supper, respectively.
The writer is incorrect and a self-centered boob to boot. There is NOT “only one correct time” to eat a Thanksgiving meal.
That’s all. Enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with family and friends (I hope).
“because anybody raised rural/country knows the noontime meal is dinner and the evening meal is supper.”
Um, no. Dinner and supper and two terms used in two difference places. Dinner typically in urban, supper in rural.
Melissa Kirsch, silly Yankee. Dinner is noon time. Supper is evening. Know your subject.
Eat Thanksgiving whenever you want. Part of what we’re being thankful for is living in a free country where you can eat what you want when you want. Made our first Thanksgiving pizza of the day (the wife and I dislike the majority of the “normal” Thanksgiving menu) for breakfast, mm good.
That’s right...My family an f friends get to enjoy good food and conversations..Annnnnd if the conversation veers off into hate Trump land,I can always talk slot machines..Everyone gets money to gamble,so a good time for all.
This was my idea...I’m the only pro Trumper in the group of 13.....they get pissed at Trump and I go gamble and have a good time..I love these people...Unfortunately,they are all idiots when it comes to politics...
“.... there is NOT only one correct time....”
You are so correct! We had our Thanksgiving yesterday... hubby is working today. So, instead of eating without him, we had it a day early. No problem... I cook for an army so leftovers today. (although I change it a bit with hot turkey sandwiches and such...). HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
