Wince or laugh at another year of American absurdity
New York Post ^ | November 22, 2017 | By George F. Will

A company curried favor with advanced thinkers by commissioning for Manhattan’s Financial District the “Fearless Girl” bronze statue, which exalts female intrepidity in the face of a rampant bull (representing (1) a surging stock market or (2) toxic masculinity).

Then the company paid a $5 million settlement, mostly for paying 305 female executives less than men in comparable positions.

Wince or laugh at another year of American absurdity

There's a class of people in this country - politicians, journalists, actors, other assorted pretentious jackasses (often with Ivy League degrees) - who feel that we, the American people, keep disappointing them. Barack Obama was one. George Will is another. Let's keep up the good work.

In my decades in the workforce I’ve never seen women paid less than men FOR THE SAME WORK - AND WORKLOAD. Now companies just promote women to fend off these lawsuits; I’ve been “working like a woman” ever since. Bare minimum, that’s it.

As late as the seventies, it was common to pay men more because they had families to support. Nowadays, it really isn’t the companies place to use need versus ability when setting pay. That’s a good thing.

Stick to baseball anecdotes George as your credibility is gone concerning anything else.

You can clearly see how much sway and influence George Will has these days, based on the weak and few postings on this very site. George Will = ZERO!!!

I was delivering newspapers then; I can’t speak to that. My whole adult working life really started during the political correct administration of BJ Clinton; this issue has been front & center the whole time.

Will went off my radar during the Vince Foster scandal.
We were getting most of our Whitewater journalism from the London Telegraph’s Ambrose Evans-Pritchard. Someone asked Will why he wasn’t commenting on Whitewater, and he said, “I’m not interested in that sort of thing.”

My apologies; I should have been more specific: I’ve been working like my female co-workers - bare minimum, that’s it.
