FULL TITLE: 'I have been hit, kicked and restrained from behind - by FIRST-GRADERS': At least 45 Pennsylvania teachers resign in just three months due to student violence and those that remain are 'begging' for help from school board
Dozens of teachers have quit their jobs in Pennsylvania's capital city amid a wave of violence from students as early as the first grade, it has emerged.
The Harrisburg Education Association (HEA) said that at least 45 teachers resigned between July and October, and more have followed since. Those who remain are now demanding more help from administrators.
'I have been kicked, punched, hit, scratched. I've had a student physically restraining me in front of my other students,' first-grade teacher Amanda Shaeffer told board members, according to Penn Live.

"...must have been one heck of a first-grader..."
Time to call Dr. Phil.
1st grader restraining a teacher?.........LOL!
Article sounds like a desperate plea for a salary increase.........After all, pay raises cure all classroom complaints by teachers.

Wrong. If a teacher tries to resist, then THEY are guilty of assaulting that “child”. And this is Philly. There is no amount of money in this world that you could pay me to teach there.
What makes a 5 year old that way? Can’t imagine.
Forty-five teachers just became conservative NRA members.
Had a realtor tell me back in the 70’s that Harrisburg was 90% Chololate and 10 % nuts.
It sounds to me like the child has never had the fear of god put in him.
Time for a bit of the old Ludovico Technique.
Had a friend who had a niece like that..At 9 years old, stood over her mother with a knife..When mom woke up,girl smiled and said I could have killed you...I told another friend and her reply was,oh yeah,I brought you into this world and I can take you out...That was the 70s.......
Fair enough. Then tell me, just how does a 1st grader restrain an adult?
Strap the young ‘un in a chair and force him to watch Lawrence Welk reruns ?
Actually, it’s not Philly, but the demographics and liberal attitudes are exactly the same.
As per the 2010 census the demographic makeup of Harrisburg was 30.7% white, 52.4% black and 18% Hispanic, with others making up the rest. I suspect that the black and Hispanic percentages are greater in 2017.
Is there any wonder?
And these creatures will be “graduating” from high school not being able to read or do basic math. They will, unfortunately, know how to hit the “Democrat” button on the voting machines.
"...what makes a child that way?..."
This year, she had a kid that was hurting her and other kids. He would literally attack her and other kids in the classroom. She had bruises all over her and again go not support.
You may laugh but I have seen some very violent 4 and 5 year olds. They can do a LOT of damage. It can be very scary.
I would be surprised if even 10% of the public school children in Harrisburg were White. Most Whites in such areas send their children to private schools, and non-Whites disproportionately make up the public school population (and as a result, tend to be low-achieving and violent, with no personal accountability, either on behalf of the teachers or students).
Probably 14 years old or so.
