CBS Developing ‘Stripes’ Series Adaptation Based On Movie

CBS has put in development Stripes, a single-camera comedy based on the 1981 Bill Murray-Harold Ramis film, Deadline has learned. The project hails from the Whitest Kids UKnow trio of Trevor Moore, Sam Brown and Zach Cregger, Sony Pictures TV and CBS Television Studios. Ivan Reitman, who helmed the movie, is attached to direct and executive produce via his the Montecito Picture Company.

Really??? Something like 75% of the jokes from the movie will not even past muster in today's PC culture. The cast of the movie had some of the greatest comedic talents of the era.

I agree. The film would melt many a snowflake, so I do not see CBS making a series that resembles the movie. If anything, it will be loosely based on the film.

Stripes is a classic movie and should be left alone.

I was in Marine boot camp around the time this movie came out and it was NOTHING like Marine Boot camp. Not even close!

The New Perry Mason idea was tried in the 70s with Monterey Markham.
