The use of the "f" word in this situation is a perfect example of free speech.
He has not stood on a street corner, screaming it at a bunch of pre-schoolers, he has not blasted it from his truck windows in a trash rap situation, he has simply displayed a bumper sticker that has offended some folks that are not really offended by the obscene connotation of the word, in and of itself, but the fact that he would display it, period.
Tough.
Because if I chose to display a "F" Hillary bumper sticker, which is my right...I'd fight to the death over it.
The most I've done (and still have displayed) is a sticker of "Calvin" urinating on the word "Obama".
I've gotten numerous outraged protestations from liberal snowflakes over it and even been accused of racism...but I will defend it under all circumstances.
This the United States of America...I shed my blood on the shores of a foreign country in defense (however misguided) of the US Constitution and all Amendments, thereto.
I will defend this cretins right to display a harmless, if tasteless, bumper sticker.
And for me, now, this subject is closed.

Three differences without a distinction.
Thank you for your service, but you didn't shed your blood for a legal State law. The USSC has upheld in the past the right of local government to pass laws restricting public displays of disorderly conduct that include lewd and obscene messages. Some States/locales enforce; some don't as in the cesspools of San Francisco and others. I have read many of the Founding Father's documents and their intent was about freedom of political speech, not that of obscenity.
Why must we put up with the lost of innocence in our children? Why can't they just be children and make up their minds as they grow older? I'll never forget the countless parents having to explain "oral sex" to their youngsters with the Clinton/Monica scandal. If you ever watch "COPS", they arrest people under those ordinances constantly, and they are upheld.
BTW, I'm an ex-Aviation sailor and cuss like a sailor when home or with other men. I never do so in public out of respect, especially for women and children. Why must we keep dumbing down decent courtesy?
