LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Three UCLA basketball players accused of shoplifting in China apologized Wednesday before coach Steve Alford announced they were being suspended indefinitely.
LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley were described as "good young men" by Alford at a campus news conference.
The coach said the trio wouldn't be allowed to suit up, practice or travel with the team while the university continues to sort out the circumstances of last week's incident in Hangzhou, China.
Ball, Hill and Riley took turns acknowledging their actions and apologizing while also thanking President Donald Trump for intervening on their behalf with his Chinese counterpart. Athletic director Dan Guerrero also spoke, but no one took questions from a throng of media.

Dump them now
They are not good young men. They are entitled and spoiled
Steve Alford = role model.
“Actually, they thanked the government first and then added Trump.”
Bet that tasted like vinegar.

“oach Steve Alford announced they were being suspended indefinitely.”
should have been expelled from the school.
They clearly didnt want to do it...although hes the one who got them out.
B**tchy Dem creeps.
Shoot! We could have traded “Bowe” Bergdahl for them.
GOOD YOUNG MEN ???
Holy cow-—
Where were most Freepers when they were 18?
In the military—drafted?? Already in Vitt Nam??? Or Korea???
I graduated from high school at age 17, and by the time I turned 18, I already had a full time job in the Divisional Offices of Kroger in Madison, Wis, and I had bought my first car-—without any help from my parents.
I would bet that many Freepers were not much different at age 18.
I certainly didn’t travel to China on the local university nickles....
Nor did I shoplift-—in another country- state—county or close to home-—or ANYWHERE.
These kids are a disgrace.
Given Alford's shameful history, that's probably exactly right.
They were fortunate this wasn’t North Korea.
I always knew my son could lead the NCAA in steals!

That Black Privilege of shoplifting didn’t go over so well with the Butchers of Beijing.
True words indeed. I actually agonized over what happened to the young man there. As you and everyone knows he took down a poster in a hallway. He was merely staying there on a young peoples educational trip.
A guy like myself would have toed the line in a country such as China. Been on my very best behaviour. Yes, lucky guys with little common sense.
Visited England and France a while back. Even in those two countries I was very aware I was not in America and had to conduct myself as such.
amen
hmmm Maybe China gave them back because they DIDNT WANT THEM :(( !
“They were fortunate this wasnt North Korea.”
It would have taken Dennis Rodman to get them out.
