ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — According to the Rochester Police Department, the mother of a 10-day-old baby has been arrested for the infant’s death.
Police say that when police arrived on scene around 2:30 p.m. Monday, they were told the child was found in bathtub of the home. The baby was immediately transported to Rochester General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Mental illness is so common in the black community and nothing is done. Now she will go to prison and still not get help. That is what is truly sad

Good L-rd! How on earth was that baby conceived with such a horror? She has a face that would turn one to stone, and a heart to match. Probably conceived that poor baby, who has to be in a better place than with her, by placing a paper bag over her head so that some feckless male would serve her.

I was curious about this too. There's a fire station in my neighborhood that has the "Safe Surrender Site" sign. How would someone (very young, confused, desperate) wanting to drop off an infant know where to go or who to ask? Do they just knock on the fire station's front door and hand over the baby?
Time for the mothers to ban bathtubs! If we can save the life of just one 10 day old infant!

I believe most, if not all, states have such policies. At the very least call 911.
About every state has them now. Really I figure she was suffering postpartum depression. Women in poor areas often go through the cracks when it comes to mental health care.

It’s been an uphill battle since 1972, when Roe v. Wade was passed. I was 12 years old and people were CELEBRATING this. I asked my Mom about it. Mom hugged me tightly and said, “I would NEVER in a MILLION YEARS have thought of killing you or your sister!”
I love my Mom. And those of us that came of age during Roe v. Wade should HONOR our own Mothers by helping others.

Most conservatives DO understand the sanctity of life. We can only live our lives as examples. We, unfortunately, cannot ‘make’ all people understand the sanctity of life.
How does not punishing this murdering mother, according to existing laws, not allow her to ‘understand (AND appreciate!!!) the sanctity of life”??
She murdered her child. NY law will, at most, sentence her to prison...I don’t think NY has the death sentence.
We ALL love our moms, DEARLY. Moms who would NEVER “in a million years” have thought about killing us.
Not sure how placing this murdering mother in a mental institution, versus prison, honors our dear mothers.
Does every murderer deserve to be placed in a mental/”nervous” institution, over going to prison...or whatever law of the land sentence they receive?
Maybe that’s what Sheila Jackson Lee was referring to, today, when she asked AG Sessions if those incarcerated couldn’t judy be rehabilitated.

People rush to judgement; it just gets tiring. Of COURSE this gal should be punished; I just wish we didn’t have to read about things like this on a daily basis - when a LOT of this is our own fault for not standing up strongly enough against the Evil Leftists, who have pretty much convinced people that babies are just an in convenience or a commodity.
I just get so tired of this. It’s getting to be every day and I know am no imagining this. Sometimes two and three stories in one day.

I think we FReepers, especially, do more than most of the conservative - and, definitely the general - population, to help our fellow man....against the forces of evil.
