Hope Hicks has looked like perfection during the Trump trip to Asia, to the point people thought she upstaged Melania. But In China, FLOTUS shined! Why Did Hope tone it down?
During the Trump administration’s two-day tour of South Korea, PR director Hope Hicks, 29, has been slaying the fashion game.
She’s rolled out perfect outfit after outfit for the official trip, including an adorable tuxedo for an event, and a cute, ruffled sweater paired with a black skirt for a meeting.
But as President Donald Trump and his team arrived in China, her wardrobe adopted a decidedly different look.
For a state dinner in Beijing with the Chinese president and first lady, Hope was wearing a simple, fuchsia dress with a modest neckline, and a black blazer.
While she looked totally cute, it was nothing special. It’s left people wondering if she was ordered to dress more casually to let First Lady Melania Trump, 47, take the spotlight!
This is where Melania got to shine! The FLOTUS is a total fashion plate, and knocks it out of the park no matter what she’s wearing. But people thought that Hope’s adorable getups were upstaging Melania. Not anymore.
As Hope dressed down, Melania dressed up! At the state dinner, as she walked alongside China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan, she was spotted wearing the most gorgeous Gucci dress.
The ornate satin dress was cut in a traditional Chinese style, and decorated with embroidered flowers and peacocks.
It also featured baby pink fur cuffs (hopefully faux). Paired with matching baby pink, 5-inch stilettos, she looked like a dream. Hey, if this is Melania’s body double, she looks great, too!
HollywoodLifers, do you think there was a reason that Hope wore a more casual dress to the Beijing State Dinner, or was this just her choice of outfit for the event?

Shes a 29 year old english major, did some modeling, and was Ivanka’s assistant in the fashion business.
She has been with Donald Trump since the beginning. She worked for Donald Trump as the press secretary when Trump was just planning his run and she was press secretary during the campaign. Her family is all in communications so it is in her roots. If she was good enough for the campaign she is good enough for the White Hut.

Yes, she’s doing this today. She should’ve done it the for the first event, though. When I saw the excessive coverage of her “look” in the tux getup, I thought, “Uh oh; this isn’t good - upstaging the FLOTUS.”. If she has been spoken to, it wouldn’t surprise me.
She’s an Ivanka hand-me-down. Makes me wonder, although she seems to be doing an OK job.
