MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. Police are investigating a videotaped altercation where an apparently intoxicated University of Miami football fan slaps an officer, who then punches her in the head.
[snip]
She flails at one officer and misses, then slaps him in the face. He hits her in the head with his right fist, causing her to crumble in the officers arms as she is carried out of camera range.

Everyone should do a search on YouTube such as: “Woman gets taste of gender equality” etc. and watch the videos that have been going viral. Then research the outcome of these cases and you will see that there is no point of law that protects a woman who is guilty of assault.
“What are you gonna do? Hit a girl?!?” WHAMM!
Let’s make sure our wives, mothers, daughters, and girlfriends understand that they will not get away with this just by being female.
One commenter mentioned disparity of force, but that is commonly misunderstood. If you can legally hit someone because someone is assaulting you, then you need not “pull” your punches because it may be a girl or a weakling.
I am not a lawyer, but neither are the other posters here. If you are a lawyer or you play one on TV, then please advise us.
To save you some family time, I’ll give you one thing—it’s always possible his retaliation was excessive.
Excessive? Not at all. Drunken bimbo is guilty of assault and battery. If the officer had stopped set up and really let her have it the ...maybe
But I still like either/or more than I like nuance.
Yes, a video of her wailing on the cop and him not doing anything in return would convict her just the same.
Programed response, good for him. Probably a few other guys lined up to do that in her past
If that skanky Florida broad were a finger wagging, fat buffalo dindu and a white cop punched her like that - itd be 24/7 on cable news
She shouldn't have slapped the cop. Plain and simple as that.
I remember when my grandfather got into an argument with the neighbors. The husband was smart and stayed indoors while his wife started yelling at my grandfather (right in his face).
Grandfather said to her “start acting like lady or I will forget that you are one.”
I know that he would never hit her but the point was well taken and she promptly stopped.
But you’d be fine with, perhaps, the cop catching her fingernail in his eye as she kept swiping at his face. Because hey, he signed up for being a cop and knew what he signed up for. People like you make me laugh. You’d rather wait for something bad happen to a cop before a cop uses reasonable force to stop a threat.
Yep....closed fist strikes are unacceptable, especially if on video. He’s done.
Seek and see shall find...
She went out with her “agenda” and acted on it knowing the potential consequences already when she initially contemplated the I hate America, I hate cops BLM agenda.
Stupid, fat, and “white” is no way to grow up!
Obama said, "If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun."
Doesn't' that apply to cops? Or just black thugs and feminist bitches?
Bingo. She woke up today and her head didn’t hurt any more than usual on a Sunday morning. Thirty year old woman. Plowed at a public event. Who knows what led up to her removal. Miami, being a tourist town, is very lax on the police interpretation of public intoxication- - and the cops are compensated by the bar and club owners for handling matters. Smack a cop, they’ll smack back. If a guy had done that, he’d be in Jackson Memorial. She got off easy.
It seems to me, that the cop over reacted. From the look of that punch, the young woman may have received a concussion. Doctors are discovering that the effects of a concussion can be major and long lasting. If the cops had used cable ties, she could have been escorted more easily out of the stadium.
In general, I support cops... but not this one.
And, a fingernail?! MARY!!!!
He had to make an instantaneous decision in a chaotic situation. He neutralized the threat. Good for him.
Haha. I have a brain.
First of all, when escorting a prisoner, the first thing you do is secure their hands.
If the "cunt" had a knife in her hand, they would have seen it. A knife in the waistband is not a knife in the hand.
Your hypothetical has no bearing in this matter, my good man. The cop was out of line.
I know when force is, and what level, necessary. I made these judgements for a living. This level of force was not necessary at this time.
You are out of line as well. I will accept your apology.
There is such a thing as a "bad cop" and also cops who make mistakes.
