In a blast from the past, there are long lines already forming in cities around the world for tomorrows iPhone X launch.
After the iPhone 8s muted rollout in late September, the lines of people willing to wait overnight suggest massive demand for the iPhone X despite its US$1,000-plus price tag.
In Singapore, there are hundreds waiting for the iPhone X outside Apples freshly-opened store.
By late afternoon, there were already overwhelming numbers, reports Channel News Asia. You need breathing space. This will take a while. There is no point in pushing, Apple store staffers were heard saying.
Man, the queue in front of Apple Store is insane. Does Apple even have this many iPhone X to go around?

Clever kid!
Is that kosher? Suppose #26-#36 take exception. People sometimes get crazy in long lines.
Stupid Apple-Sheeple.
Apple is like Microsoft was - 100 times better at marketing prowess than technological prowess.
I can kind of see this kind of behavior with the first model. But what is so new and improved now? People surf the web, listen to music, watch videos, play games, take pictures, send texts, and occasionally talk to people. What new revolutionary feature justifies this? The only real improvement would be to make a keypad that works
It’s a religion. Look for your comments to get you a beating from the true believers, if they show up on this thread. I have an iPhone and a Droid. They both have good and bad points.
I have had either one at different times. I have NEVER EVER rushed out to buy the latest. As long as my cell phone does the basic things I need, I have seen any need to “upgrade” which to me is this era’s way of “keeping up with the Joneses”.
Idiots. I wonder how many of them are anti- capitalist socialist Democrats? If they had their way instead of waiting in line for a $1000 iPhone they would be standing in line for a piece of bread.
Amazing how many here are against free markets, the willing exchange of value for money as perceived by the consumer... and of course against a company for dominating the smart phone market.
The X seems like a very marginal improvement over the 8. Frankly, my wife’s 6s Plus is close to the 8 and X in most specs, and the camera isn’t that much improved.
Geez, I plan to buy one but I’ll wait a few weeks and walk right into an Apple Store. Everybody already has a phone, what’s the hurry?
Look at the specs for the A11 processor. I’d say Apple does have technological prowess these days.
If you’re an eBay scalper, you’d be in a hurry.
How many the people in line this morning are picking up the iPhone X to resell it on eBay?
I was in tax-free New Hampshire a week ago. The Apple Store at the mall still had a small line of eBay resellers trying to pickup an iPhone 8.
Nothing in technology is so necessarily fantastic as to chase after every new release of ANY of the new technology releases for consumers, iPhone or otherwise.
The marketing by the technologists today is the same as was once dominant with autos - convincing people that this year’s latest model is so all fired necessary and fantastic that “you really NEED this”.
Like hell you do.
I agree with you.
I have been replacing my iPhone every other year. I have an iPhone X on order.
The old iPhone goes to a relative. We’re getting about 5 years out each iPhone. That isn’t bad.
Apple A11 Bionic......Can anyone give a rough benchmark on this CPU? Meaning how does it stack up against a 7th generation i3 or 15 laptop or desktop CPU?
Being part of a mob is exciting to some people.
I was always taught to avoid the mob and avoid the mob mentality; to notice my own human weakness to “become one with mob like ‘everyone else’. It is a weakness, an inability to resist a mere impulse, is exactly what it is. It arrives from a very successful campaign from a marketing agenda, It may be a device, or it may even be a “movement”. Either way, it is wise to avoid being one with the mob.
I could not agree more.. I always liked being outside the box (mob)..
