Great read. God Bless her.
Makes me remember my Childhood in the late 50’s and 60’s and how different things used to be.
Absolutely!!
It’s kind of sad, though, when Sally Rogers, Ethyl Mertz, and Mrs. Howell don’t look as old as they used to. :)

Absolutely. Our entire pop culture fell over a cliff around 4 decades ago.
bttt
She wasn’t that funny and came off hard.
The idea Rose Marie would still be around when I started collecting Social Security is amazing to me. LOL
MTM was an insulin dependent diabetic born in 1936, an alcoholic and a vegetarian. She was fortunate to live as long as she did.
Love that brassy broad. She was always hysterical
Love that line...you couldnt get it up if the flag was passing by. Perfect
It is nice she is alive. To think she was a star in the Twenties & Thirties, and still working! There is something very comforting reading this article.
Mary Tyler Moore
Health issues and death
On October 14, 1980, at the age of 24, Moore’s son Richard died of an accidental gunshot to the head while handling a small .410 shotgun.[72][73][74][75][76][77][78]
The model was later taken off the market because of its “hair trigger”.[79] ...
Moore was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in 1969, after having a miscarriage.[82]
In 2011, she had surgery to remove a meningioma, a benign brain tumor.
In 2014, friends reported that she had heart and kidney problems and was nearly blind.[83]
Moore died at the age of 80 on January 25, 2017, at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut from cardiopulmonary arrest complicated by pneumonia after having been placed on a respirator the previous week.[84][85]
She was laid to rest in Oak Lawn Cemetery, in Fairfield, Connecticut, during a private ceremony.[86]
Philanthropy
In addition to her acting work, Moore was the International Chairman of JDRF (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).[87] In this role, she used her celebrity to help raise funds and awareness of diabetes mellitus type 1.
In 2007, in honor of Moore’s dedication to the Foundation, JDRF created the “Forever Moore” research initiative which will support JDRF’s Academic Research and Development and JDRF’s Clinical Development Program. The program works on translating basic research advances into new treatments and technologies for those living with type 1 diabetes.[88]
A long-time animal rights activist, she had advocated for animal rights for years, and supported charities like the ASPCA and Farm Sanctuary.[89] She helped raise awareness about factory farming methods and promoted for more compassionate treatment of farm animals.[90] She was a pescetarian.[91]
She was also a co-founder of Broadway Barks, an annual animal adopt-a-thon held in New York City. Moore and friend Bernadette Peters worked to make it a no-kill city and to encourage adopting animals from shelters.[93]

Wow, best thread Ive seen today. Thanks
The business has certainly changed. These days, I dont see any real talent around. Because everyone uses four-letter words. In my day, we never used four-letter words.
Plus today they write in quips and not of people talking to one another. Compare one in the past and it will strike you that you heard a conversation when watching a older show vs one today.
