My first vehicle was a 1960 Plymouth Fury.

It looked very out-of-date when I got it in 1967 to commute to college. Back then, body styles changed frequently.

I am very fond of that model year. I especially like the Chrome inserts behind the wheels. That was one fantastic looking car. Space Age steering wheel too.

Lucky. My family was comparativelyh poor, so the seven of us had to fit into a 1961 Dodge Lancer. As we grew, the seven of us had to fit into a '68 Dodge Dart. The Lancer gave up the ghost in '73, and was replaced with a 1972 Impala ... finally room!

Did they ever. Remember when you could just glance at a vehicle and tell what year it was? I could even do that with 1950s and '60 VW Bugs. I still amaze people when I correctly announce the year of VW by glancing at subtle changes in the windows, dash, tail lights, no gas gauge, etc. The only ones I get wrong are '56 and '57 models.
