I have received an invitation to a luncheon to discuss my back nerve problems from a group I do not know. The only people who know about this problem are my doctors who are all within the same group. So how did this other group know about my problem? Did someone sell my medical problem? That would be a HPIA violation of the law. This was a personal addressed invitation. I am not sure how to proceed, but if I get some great advice here, I will send $250 to FR and as Proof of that commitment, I will send $100 tonight on account. J R can confirm if he wants. If someone is selling my medical records, I want to know.

not Chrome, but google from time to time. Sometimes you do not know which search you are using or at least I do not. No genius here. Normally safari.
Technically your are asking for someone to practice law without a license. You could cut to the chase and ask those who sent you the invitation how they got your name. Most likely at some time you purchased a product associated with people having back nerve problems and that info was sold to a third party by the credit card company. Always check the statement you receive that explains when your credit card company may share information and your whether you can opt out.
Re: post #76
If you have discussed your situation with a friend
then they may have innocently divulged your situation
to another medical group thinking that they were doing
you a favor. If this is the case then it is
possible that the whole thing is not what it appears to be.
Been on Medicare for the past 5 years.
The pay up has been done ask JR
I said I would and I did even though no definitive answers were given. I am still hoping the lawyers will weigh in. I am not seeking any sort of reward/refund. I just do not want my/ your information sold. And that is what I think may have happened.
There is no free lunch
Medical professionals do not invite prospective patients to a “luncheon” to discuss their problems. You are being pranked or you are pranking us. Either way stfuagtfo
I think you are referring to post 77 about sari which is a robotic directional car google app. I have not had either a medical affair or any sort of personal affair with her.
Her advice is quite good in certain circumstances.
Technically, I am not asking for someone to practice law. I am asking how I can find out who or how this incitation cam to me and who leaked my name and address.
After I had my twins I received a news paper from a Caesarian support group. The headline implied I could redeem myself for my failure as a woman by having a VDAC, or vaginal delivery after Caesarian. I was furious. No one would tell me how they got my name. It could have been a nurse. Hell, it could have been housekeeping. Yeah, you can ask where they got your name. They’ll just shrug their shoulders. There’s no such thing as privacy anymore. There probably never was.
Your smartphone may be leaking your whereabouts. Went to visit my doctor, a few days later my doctor’s personal Facebook page was a friend suggestion. Spooky in a bad way.
“Theres no such thing as privacy anymore. There probably never was.”

I agree——trying to find out how your name, address and medical info gets out is futile.
I would just toss any mailing in the trash and not give it another thought.
.
“Siri ratted you out.” I want to be clear Siri and I have not had any personal affairs or more than a distant relationship. She is a google app for driving directions and not a candidate for “ratting me out”.
Take a breather Garth Tater.
That’s not what she said!
No, I was referring to post #76 which was my own.
My second post was an addendum to post 76 although
it was not really necessary to connect the two
in hindsight.
I have a junk email account just because of this.
I get offers for all sorts of things under my alias in my fake account....
I would get junk snail mail too but, that is something else I control...
Just one junk account?
I have three.
And two real ones.
For some reason, I get mail from companies wanting to sell me hearing aids.
I cannot imagine why Deaf Dan.
