Tearful blogger who leaked footage of her Apple engineer dad's iPhone X on YouTube says he's been FIRED and begs people not to harass him
Brooke Amelia Peterson claims to have used the iPhone X when visiting her dad In the now deleted video she shows all the main features of the new release Ms Peterson activates the Control Centre and swipes through the Home Screen
The $999 (£999 in the UK) iPhone X features an edge-to-edge display The new phone, which is released on November 3, has a 'super retina display'
Apple has reportedly fired one of its engineers after his daughter leaked details about the upcoming iPhone X on her YouTube channel. On Wednesday Brooke Amelia Peterson posted footage of the 10th anniversary iPhone, which she claimed to have picked up when visiting her dad at Apple's California HQ. But in a new video posted on Saturday, Peterson said that her 'honest, wonderful' dad had lost his job as a result of her video, and begged users not to target him. 'You know what guys? Hate on me all you want, but please don't hate on my father, because he's the best person,' she said, welling up.

....Is Apple worried that the faithful wont be lining up at the Apple Stores for days prior to the release?

LOL Sorry, thats not how it works anymore. Millions have been bought already and are flowing through delivery channels to Apple customers ... as Apple haters flock to threads such as this like moths attracted to the light to buzz around.
play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Thank you for the laugh! It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of your reflexive “Apple haters” posts!
So, do you think this was a publicity stunt?
Nice publicity stunt, Apple!
Apple should just name their phone the “us2.”
As in they once again break ground with features the rest of the market has had for 1-2 years (and sometimes longer).
Except non-competes are illegal in California. I understand they can be honored for some situations, and this might be one, but generally, they aren’t.
there are no accidents
And it has Tint Control!
Apple has nothing to worry about. Millions and millions have been sold. Lining up at Apple Stores...so 2007.
Not very bright on her father’s part - or hers. This was apparently a pre-release test device full of software still under development. He deserved to get fired, and she’s old enough to understand her part in his firing.
They can hire him but Apple retains their intellectual property in his head.
Exactly. That’s why this wasn’t a publicity stunt.
It was two stupid people doing stupid things.
“Thats truly breakthrough technology!”
Worthy of a $1,000 price tag! Innovation for Romper Room kids.
I guess he can always pull a Kevin Spacey, come out as gay, and be absolved of all his sins.
Who’s hating? Apple is a great American company with great products with the absolute BEST marketing. More power to them. I just don’t buy their stuff. Not worth the money to _me_.
Non-competes have been unenforceable in Kalifornia for decades. If he was fired for “cause” then Apple might get a judge to stay it but you have a right to work in your field. A NDA is another whole issue.
Non-Compete Agreements Are Often Restricted or Unenforceable
Because non-compete agreements are so restrictive, they are often restricted or not enforceable. In California, non-competes are effectively illegal unless you are selling a business. Other states will enforce some provisions, usually the trade secret protection, but not the work restrictions.

Actually her dad is the one who messed up, she’s was just young person showing off something, her dad was the one who foolishly let her do it and video tape it for the internet. He’s sitting right there in the video as she’s making it.
He knew she was doing it and didn’t stop her.. one thing if she got it and filmed it without his knowledge, but he’s sitting right there in the video.
Obviously none of this was done with malice, but still, the dad should have known better.
Non competes are pretty much unenforceable unless the company PAYS you to sit on the sidelines during the Non Compete Term, or they can show they paid you well above your work during the time you worked for them......
Rarely do those sorts of things apply... they are just intimidation things anymore... purely meant to intimidate those who don’t know better, or scare away naive employers who want to poach.
