If the term “hooker” upsets you, what term would you prefer for women (and men) who CONTINUED TO make a conscious choice to exchange sexual favors for the money and fame that comes with being a movie actress/actor?
The first time they did it, they were victims, perhaps the 2d and 3d time too. But at what point do these men and women willing continue as participants in a system that can only entrap the next group of young people?
You may not like the reality of the topic, but that does not erase the reality that others here understand.
???????????The basic premise I was addressing was that the actresses were not successful. Don’t know what you are addressing, but it’s not what i said.
Another problem I see is beyond the willingness of some performers - I am sure - to prostitute themselves for parts. It is NOT ok with me if they are “willing.”
Why?
Because this means that those not willing to prostitute themselves don’t have a chance!
Would we put up with this in any other industry?
To get ahead or even work in coal, or forestry, or tech, or textiles, or as a cook... you have to prostitute yourself?
Absolutely intolerable. NO industry should be allowed to operate like that. It should be illegal AND prosecuted.
