Thailand's colourful new King bought his mistress and his former air stewardess wife to his father's lavish cremation service. For many men, the idea of their wife and their mistress being within 100 miles of each other is enough to bring them out in a cold sweat. But King Maha Vajiralongkorn decided he wanted both of the special women in his life by his side as Bangkok paid tribute to King Bhuminbol, during a mass ceremony today.

The new King sounds like a bad boy like Edward VII. Mistresses and tats. I wonder what the soldiers thought of the mistress barking orders. Interesting mixture of British inspired and traditional Thai uniforms.

A friend of mine when he got married had his ex girlfriend there too. Was very awkward... especially when she took the microphone and decided to give a speech.

Worth a look at the Telegraph.
I got a kick out of this picture caption, showing the prince with an earlier wife dressed in a G-string (hidden from sight):
“Footage from 2007 shows Prince Maha throwing a birthday party for his pet poodle Fufu - who held the rank of Air Chief Marshall - at the Royal Palace in Bangkok. Pictured: His third wife dressed in nothing more than a G-string to celebrate Fufu’s birthday.”
Did Fufu direct the nation’s pilots by radio?

The Thais have a very "different" attitude about sex.
Many years ago I saw a BBC interview with their prime minister. The reporter, a Brit, asked him whether he was concerned and upset that people were traveling to his country in order to have sex. He replied "Actually, we are very flattered that they find our people so attractive."

Just a bunch of stupid banter, made me and everyone pretty uncomfortable. The excuse was that she was the Mother of one of his kids.
But, to this day, 16 yrs later he’s happily married.
