A 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy is at risk of deportation after being stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint and accompanied to hospital by officers who waited outside her room as she recovered from surgery.
Rosa María Hernández was born in Mexico but has lived in the US since she was three months old. She was being taken from the Texas border city of Laredo to Corpus Christi for a gallbladder operation, travelling in an ambulance with a relative who is a US citizen.
As they drove through an inland Border Patrol station about 60 miles east of the frontier in the early hours of Tuesday, agents discovered Rosa Marías undocumented status.
The agents allowed them to continue but followed them to the hospital, another 80 miles.
Her mother, who is undocumented and in Laredo, told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times that officers waited outside her daughters room while she recuperated from the operation on Tuesday.

All compliments of the US Taxpayer.
Can you imagine what this illegal’s medical care has cost the U.S. taxpayer? No wonder Mexico uses Uncle Sap’s territory as a dumping ground.
Mom has screwed up her daughter’s immigration status. She needs to return with her daugter to Mexico and do it right. Glad we could help the child medically.
In my experience all they do at those inland checkpoints is ask you if you are a US citizen. As long as you say yes, that’s it, off you go.
It's long past time for this natural born citizen of MEXICO to go back home.
Until then:
If this was a 50 year old Brit here on vacation, would you expect him to go home after emergency surgery?
I am not sure what her age and disease have to do with anything. Its not up to the hospital to report...but if the “authorities”are aware of it, there are procedures to follow.
The “anti” crowd want to run the world based on the exception—not the rule.
The girl and her family should be grateful the US taxpayer has footed the bill for her healthcare for the past ten years. My heart does go out to this family likely struggling with the needs of this child, but here we go with the emotional outlier cases the corrupt MSM will use in an attempt to turn people away from sending illegal immigrants back to their native country.
If this girl’s case is followed to the liberal’s conclusion, any child anywhere in the world with health issues should be brought to the US for lifelong healthcare paid for by the US taxpayer. This is the only logical conclusion to this heart rendering article set up the way it is.
It used to be diseased people were turned back at Ellis Island.
Exactly. We’re not mean evil ogres. Let’s take care of the young lady’s immediate circumstances and provide a safe comfortable mode of transportation back to her home country for her and her mom. Perhaps a church group may want to “adopt” her and provide long term help, in her home country.
Another single sad story designed to allow millions of criminal aliens to spit on our laws.
Curious why they were going 160 miles to Corpus for surgery.
They have hospitals in Laredo.
Isn’t Monterrey a large modern city with hospitals? It appears from online maps that there is a direct highway to Monterrey which should be faster than driving to Corpus Christi. There must be more to the story.
Are there no compassionate Mexicans or is it that, as Trump points out during his UN Gen Assembly Speech, keeping immigrants at home creates the pressure for change from within for Nations and government to Change for the Better?
I don't care who you are, that right there is funny!
Grateful to the US taxpayer...HA! Just grab the money before you piss on them so it don't get wet.
Expect a never ending series of tug-at-your-heart stories as the open borders forces gear up for another attempt at AMNESTY SOON before the coming wave of nationalists to be elected to the Senate in 2018.
We will start seeing daily stories like this, especially children. Well Mexico has Nationalized Medicine...and hospitals. Try using them instead of ours and on our dime.
The US cannot take in the other 7 billion people on the planet.
Excellent point that should be brought up whenever the corrupt MSM pushes these drama stories. Mexico has national health care. Isn't that supposed to be superior? Isn't the care therefore available to everyone? Are there no compassionate Mexicans?
Gee, that sounds racists to suggest she can only get care here in the US.
