That’s the way I see it too. Play it verrrry straight at all times. No humor, jokes, compliments, don’t open doors, don’t pull out chairs, etc, . just answer their questions as briefly as possible, then move on.

Given the number of comments removed by the Guardian monitor, this list has really stirred a hornet’s nest. My work history has been mixed between a primarily male setting early (military, manufacturing, construction) and a mixed sexes setting (education) in the latter half of my career. I don’t recall having a huge issue in the transition from one setting to another and just being a civilized human took care of the ground rules. The high level of sensitivity in that list makes me glad my years remaining in the workforce are limited since there is nothing but pain in the smallest of accusation against any man.

Good advice to ANYONE.

People shouldn't be doing what is right just for the compliment to get an ego boost. Too many people are attention junkies and do things for that reason and get bent out of shape when it's not recognized.
