The reward for tips leading to an arrest in the case of a pit bull stabbed more than 50 times and stuffed in a suitcase is now $33,000. An animal activist from Davie is putting up $10,000. A Homestead veterinarian is donating $5,000. PETA is putting up $10,000 and CrimeStoppers is offering $8,000 including $5,000 from an anonymous donor. Ollie the pit bull died Thursday night, two days after a passerby found a blue suitcase with a paw sticking out and called police. Dr. Robert Prosek, a vet in Homestead, says he was haunted by the story. I have never seen an animal stabbed so many times and then put in a suitcase, he said. It breaks my heart. I would love for justice to be served. Steve Rosen, an animal activist from Davie, said he wants to see the person who killed Ollie put away before he hurts another animal or person. It just burns me to see people getting away with this, he said. A GoFundMe page set up by Grateful Paws Dog & Cat Rescue raised more than $40,000 to pay Ollies vet bills, which totaled more than $10,000. The rescue group plans to use the remaining money to help other animals in need.

Euthanizing the muscle breed is not the answer. Euthanizing monsters who brutalize animals is. Responsible ownership is.
Sometimes a news story is so sad there is not much that can be said or added.
Whoever did this horrible heinous inhuman thing to this poor dog should have the SAME THING done to them. But instead of painkillers given, they should have acid and fire ants rubbed into the wounds. And instead of antibiotics, they should have pig feces rubbed into the wounds. They said the dog’s tail never stopped wagging until he died, even after what he was put through.
Anyone who has ever had one of the so-called Bully Breeds know they are chosen for fighting because they are so malleable and teachable. They just want to make their mom/dad happy so they do whatever they are asked to including fighting. They are the most loyal and loving breeds along with being very protective. I have no doubt they fight because they believe they are protecting their dad/mom in their mind’s. Yes, they do think, and mine thinks a lot. She studies me to the point she knows what I’m going to do even before I do. The slightest movement in a certain way triggers a response. Heck; she’s smarter, better, and more loyal than 99.9999% of the friends I’ve had during my lifetime.
They can also be made to be mean and nasty for the same reasons.
In my world I would take that son of a bitch who did this to this dog and do exactly the same thing. This vile POS should be put down slow and hard and made to suffer in the same way. I could do it to him and not only sleep well that night; I’d sleep content knowing I did the world a favor.
I have met many sweet and sociable pits. On the other hand the one neighbor across the street is a horrible owner. Dogs are never exercised. Have not been socially acclimated to other dogs or people. They scare the crap out of me. If they get out someone is gonna get mauled or worse. If the ever get out I will put bullets in their mega aggressive skulls. I have told the neighbor that. They are hoarders. Horrid neighbors with horrid dogs. I know it is not the dogs faults, but they have been ruined.
ps. A monster kills a socialized and maintained pit. A concerned parent kills the other kind. Just saying. (Several neighbors discussed putting out antifreeze for the afore mentioned monster dogs, but decided against it.)
Who ever killed this dog was exceptionally angry with the dog. Stabbed 50 times.
Whoever did this is a brutal psychopath who is capable of doing the same thing to human beings, and possibly already has. This person should be hunted down and euthanized.
PS We walk by two schools so I can’t carry my gun. And like you say, it really isn’t the dog’s fault. Use the second charge on the owner?

It is 2 pits. There are 2 owners. First two are a menace. Second two are a waste of skin O2 and food. Can not tell you how many times I have just facepalmed watching those two morons. Example: Roundup the front grass. (Under trees BTW.) Take 9 months to lay down the mulch. Plant full sun plants under it. Water the plants till the the one tree falls over in a breeze because of water saturation.
Morons.
How about the siding blows off of 1/2 of their house and they dont get it fixed for 2 years. This was with substantial western exposure.
How about when their garage opens it is stacked to the roof with moving boxes. They moved in more than 10 years ago.
I could go on.
I put my 10 ft by 4 ft Trump sign aimed right at their house. Left it up until April.
It’s a shame to see dogs treated that way but it’s also hard to socialize bully breeds because most dog parks don’t allow them.
It’s good the decision to NOT put out anti-freeze was made. Unintended consequences like neighborhood cats could also have been killed.
So what’s wrong with that?

“Who ever killed this dog was exceptionally angry with the dog. Stabbed 50 times”
Anger does not justify. The woman who cooked her two sweet little toddlers was angry at them.
Never said it did. Just pointing out it probably wasn’t random.
“Its a shame to see dogs treated that way but its also hard to socialize bully breeds because most dog parks dont allow them.”
There is no indication Ollie was beaten and stabbed due to socialization efforts. He wagged his tail the whole time the vets and rescuers had him.
It is not difficult to socialize bully breeds for anyone willing to take the time to do so. Dog aggresiveness runs the range from none to high for all dog breeds.
At the dog fights, pits do not always want to fight and attempt to escape the fight enclosure. These are the ones that monsters like Michael Vicks personally killed including ekectrocution, drowning and physically slamming to the ground until they died.
