Colin Kaepernicks collusion case against NFL owners will argue that his continued unemployment is at least partially the fault of President Donald Trump, CBS Sports Jason La Canfora reports.
Kaepernick intends to argue that Trump, on Twitter and in public speeches, influenced NFL owners against signing Kaepernick, according to the report.
Trump no doubt has the ear of NFL owners. The day before the Kentucky rally, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was on Air Force One with Trump. Trump also tweeted last month that he had spoken with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about the anthem issuehe reportedly called Jones four times in a day to talk about the protests.
Many other owners donated to Trumps inaugural committee. Proving his views on Kaepernick and peaceful protests of injustice contributed to Kaepernicks absence from the league would require details about his conversations with ownership, though.
The breaking point for Kaepernick was when he was passed over by the Titans and Raiders two weeks ago, according to La Canfora. Tennessee signed Brandon Weeden and the Raiders held steady with E.J. Manuel.

No case.
He’s been blocked since last season.
He really needs to stop listening to the stupid sh1t his girlfriend says.
kraft being on a plane with trump raises SJW hackles, but an AG sitting on the plane of bill clinton while his wife is under investigation...well, that’s just all so much chin music now, isnt it?
Hope so. Hope this POS is reduced to begging on the street to support himself. Kapernick is a loathsome, no talent, vicious, anti-American ingrate.
He gets paid to play football, not protest.
It’s not rocket surgery.
What utter b/s. Is there a state law implicated? What constitutional federal laws have been broken?
If none then summary judgement and case dismissed for lack of a genuine dispute of a material fact.
His girlfriend yes and now a lawyer who thinks he can face and win Trump and his lawyers.
This is a loser
“Report: Kaepernicks Collusion Case to Focus on Donald Trumps Influence Over NFL Owners”
ah, yes. the ol’ “Presidential Influence” clause in the NFL collective bargaining agreement. Kap’s case should be a slam-dunk ...
Kaepernick just keeps on defining the word idiot.
Good luck with that as.h..le. Trump does not own any team and it would therefore be impossible for him to collude with owners or them with him.
He is just an employee or Ex employee now
0bama was president when kaepernick started his BS!
He HAD a contract with San Francisco and walked away from it of his own free will He has no case.
Is Trump a time traveler? Did he go back in time to last year and cause this guy’s hiring problems?
So he’s not trying to win an actual legal case, but rather using the legal process for political purposes? Who’s paying the lawyers?
14 losses, 2 wins in his last season.....and walked away from a contract San Francisco offered him.
This guy has an almost terminal case of “pu—y whip”.
No documents, no recorded conversations, no sworn witness testimony, no case. Just another wealthy anti American, anti Trump leftist funding this suit and using this fool Kaepernick as a tool.
Football teams play other teams.
Every team owner has an interest in maximizing their ticket sales and TV revenue.
Football teams are valued by fan loyalty.
Disloyal players who don’t appreciate the millions of dollars they make thanks to the greatness of the USA are disliked by the fans.
Disloyal players who don’t respect our nation should expect to become unemployed, permanently.
