Authorities have identified the body found floating in the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia on Thursday.
The medical examiner has confirmed the victim was 58-year-old Philip Reitnour.
Reitnour was the entrepreneur behind the app "Emergensee" and was featured on an episode of ABC's Shark Tank.
Body found in Schuylkill River: Rick Williams reports during Action News at Noon on October 12, 2017.
Court records reveal he was three million dollars in debt and being sued.
Police are investigating his death.
The medical examiner has not ruled on the cause.
Chief Wiggum: Uh sorry, sorry, no dumping in the lake!
Fat Tony: Fine, I will put my *yard trimmings* in a car compactor.
Lou: Uh, Chief, I think there was a dead body in there.
Chief Wiggum: I thought that too, until he said ‘yard trimmings’. You gotta learn to listen, Lou.
Could someone from Philly please tell me the correct pronunciation of that name?
Schu as in "shoe"?
Schu as in "skoo"?
Schuy as in "shy"
Schuy as in "sky"?
Schuyl as in "school"?
Schuyl as in "skull"?
Schuyl as in "shoe'll"
Or something else?
A friend from there pronounces it ‘Skookle’.
My Russian/Italian ex-wife from Fildulfia always pronounced it "Skoo-kill" ...
... while I always just pronounced it "Smelly" ...
Thanks. Always wondered how that strange spelling was supposed to sound.
“Sonny, you have to remember, it’s BUSINESS, not personal!!
Skool kill
I used to pronounce it SKY-kill, much to a local’s amusement. Hard to figure ‘mo bhuachaill’ in Ireland too.
When I lived in Philly, we called it the “Sure Kill River.”
$3 million bucks?
This dude lost everything: John McMonigle
He’s fighting his way back...
something like “school-kill” always worked for me when I lived there.
kill means river or stream in Dutch.
Catskill, Peakskill, Wallkill, Kill Van Kull etc.
Now, to be serious, Prayers to his family...
I used to live in Philly. One day a co-worker came in late. She used to row with a team in the morning and that morning they had found a body in the river.
Ah, Philly...
Usually “Skoo-kill” - but the heavily-traveled road that follows its bank through midtown Philadelphia is sometimes called the “Sure-Kill Expressway”.....
Schuylkill = SKOO-kle.
No reason to kill yourself. Just file for bankruptcy and tell the Shark Tank investors to stuff themselves.
I guess he did and they dumped him in the river.
