First lady Melania Trump's office fired back at President Trump's ex-wife Ivana on Monday after she boasted of her access to the White House and even referred to herself as the real "first lady."
In an interview with “Good Morning America” to promote her new book “Raising Trump,” Ivana Trump said she and the president speak “about once every 14 days.”
“I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there,” she said. “I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife.”
She added with a laugh: “I’m first lady, okay?”
“This is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise,” the first lady’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement to Fox News.
“Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, D.C. and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States,” Grisham said, slamming Ivana’s book-promotion. “She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books.”

Nobody voted for Ivana. She has no more right to dictate policy than Hillary did when she tried to create HillaryCare during Bill’s first term.

Ivana is not a native English speaker. Maybe she meant to say, “first wife,” instead of “first lady?”
She’s not trying to dictate policy that I know of, just looking for fame and to sell some books.

It’s nice that all the exes are still friendly, but low class for Ivana to try to insert herself into any perceived position. The statement quoted seems like she was just making a joke, though.
Excuse me, but it looks like the PR guy is slamming her not Melania. What a dumb@ss. Melania’s persona is that she seems to be above the pettiness.

Yes, I think she was just making a joke, and doubt that Melania “slammed” her. The MSM is (as usual) trying to create a scandal, where there is none.
I guess you could give her the benefit of the doubt, but she’s been speaking English for many years.
It was just a play on words because she was his first wife it’s really not that big a deal.
Oops. I thought this was about IVANKA. Why is Ivana even in the news? And why is she being interviewed......oh wait, Big Media does like to stir up trouble, don’t they??? Trump’s ex-wives need to fade away. He is done with them. Too bad they cannot just live on the money he gives them.
