Link only will not allow copy and paste. But the five questions are great, worth the click.
Like where is the brass, how did 2000 or so empty brass casings disappear?
Were are the burn marks on the carpet from the very hot brass expelled from automatic fire?
and so on.
He wouldn’t have the heavy draperies, which are only on portions of the windows, to help obscure him.
NO!
Thank you, I could not get it to copy so as to paste.
Eye. Roll.
Please. I've shot AR-15's for years. On dry grass, on benches with carpet covering them. I've never seen "burn marks".
The only "burn" I've seen was a well-endowed gal who had a piece of freshly-ejected brass go right down the middle of the front of her shirt. She hopped around a bit, but no real damage.
Eugene Stoner would disapprove. You should run them wet. Use CLP or oil or something.
Thank you. Couldn't have said it better.
Maybe the OP didn't, but I will. 5.56 bullets will often go through and through on a deer, and on a human. Velocity exceeds Mach 2.6, you know.
Sorry, I was mistaken - it looks like you can draw the drapes to cover the windows, but there would only be openings in certain places.
Generally speaking, I think you're right, especially for the most popular AR15 configuration (16" barrel, chambered .223/5.56, with carbine-length gas system). However, I've read (and seen it confirmed on occasion ;>) that ARs with weaker-than-normal ejection will eject empty cases more to the side and rear (from roughly 4 o'clock to 5 o'clock, with the muzzle at 12 o'clock). Weak ejection can obviously result from any number of causes, including under-powered ammunition, worn/out-of-spec parts, and (I assume) lack of lubrication. Your suggestion that many/most of the cases went out the window(s) is probably "spot on"...
Difference between “nearly dry” and “dry”. I have a very thin film of oil (not grease) on the bolt carrier. Nothing that will cause the large amounts of smoke the author of that piece spoke of.
Bellagio had a confirmed shooting of its front entrance at the time of the massacre. Guests were locked out of their rooms for some time.
Well, whatever may have been planned, it’s hard to figure out how he expected to hide even if he escaped the immediate scene - and I think he did expect to escape, so I have a conundrum.
Sorry, I misunderstood your post at first. Some have suggested that he knocked out two windows so that he would have aim on the concert crowd from one, AND the airport, with the fuel tanks, at the other.
I remember one video that I saw/heard, where there were three distinct cracks - like deliberate sniper fire - and there was a suggestion that these were the shots that hit the tanks.
