FULL TITLE: Miami Dolphins owner FORCES players to stand on the field during national anthem - as three refuse and remain in the tunnel
Miami Dolphins players were forced by the team owner to stand before Sunday's game when a military band played the national anthem.
Stephen Ross, who was an advocate for players protesting in the past during the national anthem, changed his views on the issue after comments President Donald Trump made saying players should be fired and referred to them collectively as 'son of a b***h.'
Before the team's game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Ross said: 'Trump has made [standing for anthem] about patriotism. It's so important if that's what the country is looking at to look at [the protest] differently.'
Ross asserted that the issue last year was raising awareness for equality and other subjects that did not involve patriotism.

Don’t care.
No, it's "stand up, respect America and the flag for which it stands, or we'll fire your ass".
Those three should be fired
That is where they make a lot of money.
Most people have enough sense not to tick off the people who pay their salaries. In this case were talking about the public paying big money to go to games & people watching on tv. So much stupidity is involved here. Unexplainable...
The three that refused should be picking up their final paychecks NLT Friday the 13th.
I have never worked for a company that allowed me to express my political opinions while at work on company time wearing company provided clothing and safety equipment
Not really. It was always about patriotism, no matter what the millionaire cry-bullies said.
Exactly.
When you are paid, and wear a uniform, you are on someones time. You can protest on YOUR time, and YOUR dime.
They were not forced. They are free to quit their jobs anytime.
The three who stayed in the tunnel weren’t even fired.
“Force?”
Right.
Sad.
“And you can speak your mind, but not on my time.”
Eff the NFL.
The answer is a resounding No. This is why, even if tomorrow every single NFL player were to stand, it wouldn't make us watch again. Because now it isn't so much the physical act of standing, it's the "knowing what you know" about their attitude and beliefs that has changed everything.
If he's learning he's not learning much. I can't recall a time in my 62 years when standing for the anthem was not about patriotism.
It is a simple policy to implement. If you kneel or sit or otherwise disrespect the flag or national anthem. You sit that game and the next..... and get paid accordingly.
One could stop by Home Depot, hire three guys to stand on the sideline and most would not know the difference.
It’s in the contract.
Its ok. They will be unemployed soon when the NFL runs out of cash.
