Posted as a reminder that the worst killers of innocents are Goverments, to include our own.
if the govt wanted to arrest that leader fellow, all the agents had to do was stop him on his way around town, he went out regularly to shop and visit people
there was no need of a military assault on his home, especially with all those other people there including children
imho this was a terrible terrible terrible terrible event, if accidental then THAT needs to be SURE to be corrected to prevent it from ever happening again. If not accidental then those responsible should be made to pay
ps: i just posted a silly, OF COURSE it was NOT accidental!
tanks and armed assault troops assembled military-attack style outside a little civilian city like that?
it was NO accident!
No surprise here, sadly
The FBI shot them as they tried to escape the flames.

I wonder what the ruling would have been had it been a MOSQUE.
The first shot was fired by an ATF agent who was heavily armed with a firearm he wasnt properly trained to use and wounded an unarmed David Koresh at point blank range. The agents second shot was fired wildly and killed Koreshs unarmed two year old daughter. The agent acted legally according to Federal District District (Waco) judge, Walter Smith Jr.
After the initial shootout and burial of those Davidians already killed, the government needlessly and repeatedly drove over the graves.
During the seige the Feds took what they described as a “carrot and stick” strategy —sounds pretty good, huh..?
The conciliatory side was mostly social scientists and the stick side was being commandos. These sides had little in common and seldom communicated.
The end effect to those inside the compound appeared highly schizophrenic; assurances would be given and not 1 minute later they would suffer some sudden, dramatic attack, like shooting or the audio recorded playing of the screams of dying rabbits.
This played into the hands of the Kook Leader, who admonished that the doomed world outside was composed of deceitful beguilers.
The gov’t cleared the gov’t?
Quelle surprise...
If John C. Danforth is inon this, it’s almost certainly the wrong decision.
I miss the days when conservatives were solidly against government abuses of power. It seemed like after 9/11, most conservatives became statist bootlickers who wanted to flush the Constitution down the toilet and worshipped Dubya like he was some kind of emperor.
