From 1978 through 1979, Stefan Tetenbaum worked as Hugh Hefner's valet, doing everything from restocking the Playboy founder's fridge with necessities like perfectly chilled Pepsi to cleaning sex toys after Hefner’s infamous "Pig Nights," when the robe-clad Hef would call in prostitutes for his friends. Tetenbaum, now 67 and a sculptor living in Redondo Beach, Calif., shares his stories with The Post.
My job as Mr. Hefner’s valet was to take care of him in a very personal way. I prepared his "sick menu" - Pepsi, Campbell's chicken noodle soup and M&Ms - whenever he felt ill, which was often because he was a hypochondriac. When Hefner started out, he created an image of slick sophistication and glamour; the girls in Playboy were nude but there were no explicit shots of their private parts. Keys to Playboy Clubs were sold for $ 25 each (they sold zillions), the Clubs themselves were attractions and the magazine peaked at 7.5 million subscribers. Then, the whole empire of Playboy seemingly had to become more and more explicit; it was investigated as a center for drug dealing in Chicago and Hefner descended, like a swirling toilet, into more and more filth and depravity. His life didn’t amount to much of anything positive, plenty negative, he hurt many (ask Dorothy Stratten’s family) and although there is a forgiving God, I doubt Hefner is in a “better place”.

This stinks to high heaven. A guy like Hefner would never reuse that stuff...Oh yeah, that was before HIV-AIDS changed the scene. Disco days were reckless enough that I almost believe what this guys says. However, why would the Founder of Playboy Magazine with his “Playboy Philosophy” need a secret compartment in his bedroom for his sex toys in 1978-’79?

On the other hand, sometimes such women turn to the Lord and discover that they can be born again, and all things are new. They are a new creation.
Except sometimes the mind and heart and soul are responding well to repair, but the body is permanently wrecked.
Have mercy on these women. Surely the Lord desires more for them than drugs, alcohol and suicide, followed by a horror that is even worse, and permanent.
The Lord yearns to gather them back into wholeness.

They both turned to the Lord and started responding to His grace through their church and their own prayers for each other. They were always consciously trying to be good to each other.
It was a struggle for sure, with some slipping and sliding, but they were being guided on the right path.
The eventually had a kid. I lost track of them so I don't know how that went. But I do think the Lord meant their "rebirth" not only for themselves, but as a lesson for many. And I am sure the blessed Angels are keeping an eye on their kid(s).
