And then the entire US military can be shut down with an EMP? Brilliant!

The US Military Is Quietly Building SkyNet

"The US’s military leaders have agreed on a strategy to guarantee the US military retains its global dominance during the twenty-first century: Connect everything with everything, as DefenseOne describes it. The result? An unimaginably large cephapoloidal nervous system armed with the world’s most advanced weaponry, and in control of all military equipment belonging to the world’s most powerful army."

Great. Instead of the Squad Leader in the Sky we’ll have foot patrols being directed from the Pentagon.

The U.S. Military basically did not invent the internet, but they are the ones that fully developed the technology and before anyone else, were the first to use it nationally, world wide first, space driven first, and world wide datalink before anyone knew it existed. All branches of the service use datalink, but they are not centrally controlled. They are already experts in hacking and prepared for cyber warfare. But command and control of all assets is the wrong approach. Sharing information at all levels no matter how small the assets is not the right approach and opens to many channels to insulate from potential hostile cyber threats.

Navy ships have been sharing info for years. I think we called it Link back in the early 90s. Also shared data with helos during asw ops. They are just talking about expanding it.

Only question is there an opt-out for emcon, etc
