The oldest evidence of life on Earth ever discovered may lie within rocks that are 3.95 billion years old, a new study finds.
The new finding represents the earliest sign of life yet on Earth by 200 million years or more, the researchers said.
Evidence of life early in Earth's history remains sparse because few well-preserved rocks have survived from the Eoarchean era, which spanned from about 4 billion to 3.6 billion years ago. During that time, Earth's primitive atmosphere and oceans as well as the oldest signs of life first emerged.
Until now, the earliest hints of life in the 4.5-billion-year history of Earth were inside a 3.7-billion-year-old rock from Greenland revealed in 2016. Prior work, from 1996, also claimed to have found signs of life in 3.8-billion-year-old rocks from Greenland's Akilia Island, although those findings remain hotly debated.

Christian philosophers...who believe that evolution supports theism. It's wonderful that adopting the "correct" view of creation is not in any way a requirement of salvation--although, sadly, there are some who appear to think so.

One of the foundations of the abiogenesis of life is that it had billions of years to occur. And THIS is the other one...

One could argue that in Genesis, every ‘day’ ends with ‘and the evening and the morning were the nth day’ closing out that ‘day’.
Every day save one.
That’s the seventh day, the day The Creator rested.
That day isn’t over, He is still on vacation, which explains a lot about the current condition of humanity and the planet...

I’ve been unemployed in Boston, unemployed in Ft Lauderdale, and unemployed in Plymouth County.
By far, Ft. Lauderdale is the best place to be unemployed, as one can always go to the Beach.
I have never been unemployed in Greenland...and hope NEVER to be!
Now I am “retired” which is not quite the same as being unemployed. I live in a town named for the ubiquitous ROCKS that make farming impossible, and explains why the Pilgrims STARVED!

One could argue...Exactly as I did.
He is still on vacation...
Only from creating:
"...because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted him. Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working." " John 5:17

It's fun to note that God is currently only, as you put it,
vacationing from creating. He designed this present creation to enable His permanent defeat and further prevention of all evil, which is still a work in-progress.
Once that project is completed, Revelation 21 & 22 record his further beginning creative efforts, an "eighth day" or second week of creating, perhaps among many. Note that the new heaven and earth have different laws of physics. For example:
* no gravity: the New Jerusalem is a 1,500-mile cube, but in gravity those corners would collapse and it would become spherical, as with every large body we see in this universe.
* no electromagnetism: no illumination from light sources; instead, God illumines everything personally.

You're very perceptive and have rounded out our discussion--although now He is vacationing from creating on earth, He's "always at his work," which includes creating our future homes.
