Police were called to the Johnston home of 30-year-old Erin Lee Macke on Sept. 21 after receiving a report that children had been left unsupervised, the Des Moines Register reported.
While conducting a welfare check, police found Macke’s four children – two 12-year-olds, a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old -- alone.
Police discovered that Macke left the U.S. a day earlier and wasn’t set to return until Oct. 1, the Register reported. She did not arrange any supervision for the children, authorities said.

I do know a woman who leaves pre-teen kids alone, unsupervised, for 10 days and leaves the country is not someone most people would consider a responsible parent.
I guess the government does not consider any one under a certain age to be the people. if a child has a gun or not should be up to the parent.

I’ve heard if you leave your kids alone and go to Europe, roving gangs of socialists come to your house to brainwash them. Some set up the TV to broadcast socialist messages 24-7. This is why parent can’t leave young kids for more than a few hours.
Have you ever read the constitution and the bill of rights? do you know that freedom was the issue?
Most of our founders was aware that the socialists and other sobs in this country would eventually be picking freedom apart little by little but they would probably turn over in their graves if they knew about parental policing.

The concept most people agree on is that children cannot protect themselves from abusive adults like parents who control their lives. That means there will be laws. Those laws get enforced usually when someone reports something not because the state is being peeping Tom. Even Cal doesn’t charge enough taxes for that.
When you leave your kids to go on vacation to another continent, and they are under 14, that is abuse by definition.
Yes I read where you advocated the government licensing people to become parents and then monitoring whether they me the governments ideals or requirements of parenting. I cannot disagree more with that statement of yours. Was this paticular parent guilty of abandonment and/abuse, it appears yes. you called out for the government I call out for the father the grandparents the aunts and uncles.
