I doubt that Trump was “infuriated.” He already said (last week or the week before) that he thought maybe he had backed the wrong one, so he knew this was going to happen.

I think he was hoping that backing an establishment candidate would get McConnell (a big Strange backer) on board for the health initiative. Obviously, it didn’t.

And P.S. President Trump

Those same guys who are saying Amnesty for the Dreamers is a good idea also the one who said backing Strange was the right thing to do.

Don’t make the same mistake twice. We can and do forgive you (and really don’t care) for backing Strange, we won’t be so forgiving if you ever sign an Amnesty. No going back from that one.

Anything out of CNN is suspect but we can safely bet the farm that it will be spun in the light most negative and hostile toward President Trump.

Trump should learn from this that the RINO establishment hates him as much and maybe even more than the DemonRat/Deep State establishment. To paraphrase the movie “Freaks” he is not one of them and can never be one of them. He can not curry their favor no matter what he does.

I’m always amazed at how badly elected Republicans squander campaign $$$. Barbour did the same thing with the RNC when Bill Clinton was vulnerable in ‘96. At some point these pols might do well to hire someone who knows what s/he is doing with $$.

When I was on the County central Committee, our rule was, no endorsements in a contested primary.

Very sound policy.

Blush....

Nah, I just have learned over the years, to “smell” comments...sixth sense... and currently all news is mostly to all fake! Egads! The only real news is factual “Trump said this” with transcript and video, or announcements about how many judges appointed, and so on.

And then, Thomas Wictor!

I’m ravelling... cannted 140# of peaches recently - floor is still sticky - froze what seemed like a bushel of collards - yesterday made 100 cookies because DH wanted to give some to people - trying to exercise - got a few clients trickling in - and health issues (boy do we all or mostly) and my last lone old lady cat is blind, got injured and lost and now somewhat demented, so I have to take her for walks on the property or she’ll get lost 50 feet from the house.

Interesting life, in the Chinese way.

If I ever ever come to the east coast for a visit I’ll have to meet you!

Hello LJ, hope you are well. I don't for a minute think that Trump is being controlled, or can't think for himself. I enjoy "the winning" as he has shown repeatedly this is not the case. But he is on top of an advisory pyramid. He does listen to the daily briefings of a host of advisors. They are closer to him than we are, and their advice is at times highly questionable. I do believe the advice he received was to support Strange in exchange for some assistance in Congress on other matters. And, I believe that was bad advice. We the People want him to drain the swamp, not join the smokey back room banter. In the long run, he is better positioned by having a genuinely conservative Congress, than by trading favors with the swamp things that run it today.

From what I've seen of Trump, he probably took it in stride.

Obviously, he doesn't love McConnell, but I doubt he blew his top over something like this.

Yes, yes, of course.

Her NAMELESS contacts. Just like all the fake news - unnamed, sources close to, etcetcetc.

So reliable, so negative 100%...

Yes, but there is no evidence about any of it.

What we know for sure are his words and actions, and the direct words (if not based on unnamed sources...) of others and their actions.

He gave a VERY lukewarm endorsement speech for Strange. He knew Moore would win. So why would he officially endorse Strange, and at the endorsement speech, essentially backtrack a bit?

Because his endorsement is for a purpose, to ensure Strange votes the right way for the next few months.

Today Trump is totally enthusiastic about Moore.

Regarding Trump’s advisors, he did not become the incredible success he has been throughout his life, by being the tool of fools or knaves. He listens, he sorts through, and he decides. Of course he’s not perfect.

Just my personal opinion, that there was no backroom deal with McConnell(puke) on this matter. No evidence either way, so we can all guess equally. :-D

Thanks for your wishes - I hope you and yours are well.

My problem is I’m 15 years older than when I registered on FR. I was practically a child then!

The mortal coil aging brings lots and lots of life lessons, that’s for sure.

I envy your life sometimes - wonderful to live where you are.

Anyway, yes, it’s all fake news. I go on instinct and I refuse to believe all the crap that’s out there about DJT - I’m especially incensed over this ridiculous lie about his admin being slow in Puerto Rico. In show biz terms, what the media is looking for is a “hook” - that he doesn’t like “brown” people. Hah! Of course, they ignore that he probably has known Puerto Ricans his entire life - they are a large part of NYC.
