CNN)Returning from a high-dollar fundraiser in Manhattan on Tuesday evening, an infuriated President Donald Trump watched aboard Air Force One as Fox News called the Alabama Senate primary for Roy Moore against Trump's favored candidate, Luther Strange. What ensued was a barrage of angry venting at his political team and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who had consolidated establishment GOP support behind Strange.

Trump, officials and informal advisers say, felt misled by McConnell and his political team, who encouraged him to endorse and campaign for Strange.

That’s what Brit Hume was saying last night on Tucker - that Strange had guaranteed he would rubber stamp everything Trump put forth and that Moore could be erratic. Of course, all politicians say they’ll be loyal until they actually have the job.

Assuming this is true, which is a grand assumption on my part, Whoops! Live and learn.

Surely you are not suggesting that Trump made a deal with a crooked sleaze like McConnel. He could not be that stupid.

She’s been here in the past — that is, until the jackals here ran her off.

And now that Strange lost, McConnell owes Trump.

Good luck extracting that marker from dishonest Mitch.

Maybe DACA. Moore will likely oppose it, Strange probably would have supported it, Trump wants it, McConnell will get attacked by conservatives for going along with Trump.

ON one hand, Trump is a proven leader and negotiator who always wins, knows the “art of the deal”, and plays n-dimensional chess that leads to getting his way on everything.

On the other hand, Trump is an easily misled neophyte who keeps listening to the wrong people, who are clearly to blame for all of his troubles.

He could have been neutral. That was his only other option.

And I think it would have been much better for him had be been. Hopefully this is a learning experience.

Strange has been nothing but a puppy that shows his belly to Trump every chance he got. If that behavior gets your primary opponent an endorsement from the president, no one in the Senate will feel any need to by loyal to President Trump ever.

I agree. If Trump endorsed anyone then how could he not endorse Strange? What kind of message does it send if he endorsed the primary opponent of a senator who had been that loyal to him? Trump roped himself into this mess.

Moore ran as Trump but Trumpier. But you wonder what he’s going to do the first time he reads about a gay wedding at a military chapel or something.

Had Moore been in the Senate instead of Strange there would have been, by Moore's own statement, four votes against Graham-Cassidy instead of three. Moore will vote with the President when he agrees with him but won't hesitate to vote against when his conscience dictates.

You have to read between the lines, the part which seems to come from a number of sources is that Trump felt misled by McConnell. The part about being infuriated and venting is exaggerated. They knew Strange would lose and it was already being discussed to blame this on McConnell.

He backed Luther early on and remained loyal to that pick officially, but he really didn’t do much except show up for the rally at which he also said he would support Moore if necessary. It would have been far more disruptive in a lot of ways to support Moore from the beginning.

What bullshit. Show me a non-anonymous source that Trump was 'infuriated'. They cite multiple sources that say Trump does not like McConnell, which is obvious -- but the inference is he's out of control.

CNN, all fake, all the time.

Hence the 'if true' qualifier.

There is no evidence that anyone pushed Strange on Trump and Trump, being the (apparently) feeble, witless fool easily controlled by others, succumbed to their influence.

IOW, it’s dogs**** present as “nooz”.
