DirecTV is allowing customers to get refunds when they cancel their Sunday Ticket package if they cite players protesting during the national anthem as the reason for ending the service, Joe Flint of The Wall Street Journal reports.
According to The Journal, different DirecTV representatives provided contradicting answers when asked if refunds would be provided, but customers who contacted The Journal said they were getting at least some refunds. One DirecTV representative told The Journal that only customers with specific plans could get refunds, another said customers could get prorated refunds for the remainder of the season, a third said full refunds were available while a fourth said no refunds were being offered.

I think the NFL will get bogged down in lawsuits and will feel the pain sooner.
No fans, no product. Those on the hook or already out the money will sue I am sure.
The SCUMBAGS at NFL GAME PASS won’t give a prorated refund - I tried this afternoon to no avail. It will cost them a lot more than a simple subscription when I’m done. They need to be shamed into giving us refunds who bought their BLM supporting crap.
As many angry people as there are out there you know there are lawyers licking their chops...I think this will become a lawsuit avalanche sooner rather than later.
I called DirecTV and tried to get a refund but they refused - they told me I had to first subscribe to both DirecTV and Sunday Ticket BEFORE I was eligible for a refund, and that I had done neither.
Bummer.
I was thinking about bringing up the ‘moral turpitude clause’ [which could lead to countless lawsuits if examined], but this is SO much BETTER!
Leftist activists [and in this case sypmathizers of terrorists who block ambulances during riots — BLM] have been dancing on the fringe of law and need a form of excoriation OUTSIDE the realm of legal definition.
But if you want to think of the legal consequences, another way to sock it to the NFL is via civic vigilance. Did a hotdog make you sick? Did a drink have something funny inside it? Are there flies around the statium? Are there fire hazards? OCEA hazards?
ETC.
Report it to the proper government authorities.
“I had to first subscribe to both DirecTV and Sunday Ticket BEFORE I was eligible ...”
Did you happen to attend a football game recently and see a fly in your drink? You did, didn’t you? Report them to the proper government authorities. And all of the other healthcode violations that you witnessed.
I have season tickets and asked my rep for a refund and was declined. The response was quite obviously prepared for her.
And speaking of BLM, they are a terrorist organization. The NFL is aiding and abetting terrorists.
Report every code violation you see. The NFL is supporting terrorists [BLM], so why should we cut them some slack on all of these govt regulations that other leftists have foisted on us?
haha....
I cancelled my subscription years ago. And later dropped DTV after ATT tried to screw me on phone service.
Two days ago I dropped the last two NFL teams from auto recording JUST IN CASE a there was ever an ending I might want to see
Thus ALL references to NFL are GONE
ByeByeGoodell
Sorry, I don't get it. What response and who is "her"?
“you know there are lawyers licking their chops”
We don’t buy sports tickets but I’m wondering if there is any teeny-tiny print resembling a contract stating expectations from either the seller or buyer.
“Did you happen to attend a football game recently and see a fly in your drink? You did, didnt you? Report them to the proper government authorities. And all of the other healthcode violations that you witnessed.”
YES! Yes, that IS exactly what happened! I’m gonna report that fly right now! To the proper authorities of course ...
I asked for a refund and my ticket representative (her) replied with a prepared statement.
What was the gist of the prepared statement?
“Thank you for your feedback. We value the input our of fans, partners, and others who follow the team, so we appreciate you taking the time to contact us.
We certainly understand that the National Anthem issue is a very sensitive one for all involved, and the underlying conversations are bigger than just the NFL. Patriotism comes in many forms, and please know that the players are responsible, patriotic, and generous people who love our country and give back to their communities. Many of them have family members who serve or have served in uniform. That’s one of the reasons why the organization supports, highlights, and thanks our heroes in uniform whenever we can. Please also know that our organization and players remain committed to being heavily involved in making our community a better place.
With that being said, thank you again for your reaching out and for your feedback but we cannot provide refunds.”
Thank you ...
I am sure there are tons of that teeny tiny print but lawyers are not discouraged by that. They can always hope for the sympathetic judge or jury and the merits of the case won’t matter.
