The Pittsburgh Steelers decided as a team to remain in the locker room before their game Sunday while the national anthem was being played, but one player strayed from the pack and walked out of the tunnel to pay tribute to the American flag. That player now has the hottest selling jersey in the NFL.
Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva, a former Army Ranger who served three tours in Afghanistan, has seen a massive spike in his jersey sales over the past 24 hours. As Chuck Schilken of the Los Angeles Times discovered, Villanuevas No. 78 jersey is the first one that appears in the online NFL Shop under the list of top sellers. The same is true for name and number T-shirts.

I personally will not buy anything from the NFL.
I agree. Don’t buy it.
Just curious, do players get any kickback/commission on their jerseys?
If you do a search here, I believe you will find an answer as it was discussed. Apparently it is something very small and the league takes the lion’s share. Don’t quote me on this but this is the gist of what was stated here on FR earlier..
The very BEST video and remarkable rendition of our National Anthem ever!!!
The singer was a Navy Corpsman with tours in the Middle East...
This fires me up every time I hear it....

Im a big fan of Villanueva but I think buying his jersey doesn’t help HIM you are only giving the money to the NFL..instead of buying his jersey send money to Veterans groups to help those with PTSD and other medical issues I think even Villanueva would agree that would be the best place to send the money
Which charities does he support? If he does, we could donate to them in his name.

But which teams have had their players arrested the most? The following list was compiled based on stats reported on USA Today, and goes in order from least to most arrests while a player was currently employed by the team.

Excellent... Now let’s just all get the news out there. It would be soooo cool to watch nfl sales go to zero while goarmysports simultaneously go through the roof!
I still hate the Steelers. Except when they play the Patriots.
They can all bugger off. The whole damn league can bugger off.
To HELL with the NFL.
Not so fast. He’s already on the apology tour saying he regrets going out and throwing his team under the bus.
You might want to cancel that order. He’s already regretting the move and how he let down his team and threw them under the bus.
And the 82 works well since I was in the 82nd Airborne!
Nope. I’m even more proud to wear it. He just displayed more class and humility in a 15 minute press conference than the rest of the league has shown since the Krapernick protest started. Stand up guy.
Nope. The guy was just too stupid to take part in a stupid protest.
Figures.
The only jerseys I own are hockey jerseys.
