You fellas in the NFL had better all stand with your hands over your hearts next Sunday, or your sport is doomed. It is pretty obvious that you don't believe this, but watch what happens next. You are forcing fans to choose between loyalty to lawless, disrespectful, bigoted black players mostly who feel they can do whatever they want whenever they want and the country governed by rules of law and requirements of patriotic loyalty to survive.
This is almost literally a choice between a collapsing path to severe division and civil war, or unity in honoring our country and flag a de-escalation of conflict. This is the dividing line in our history going forward. Either you are for this country, or, you are against it as it stands. You can NOT have it both ways. You are trying to FORCE us to accept your rebellion and get rid of Trump and all we voted for, or else.
Choose you this day whom you will serve moment for all of us. It actually is a choice between good and evil this time.
None of this has anything to do with justice of any type; it is a classic example of a weak minded herd mentality, particularly evident in blacks, that finds pleasure in the attention it generates...
When the attention goes away, some other demonstration will be necessary...
Geeeeez, what a bunch of zombies! This team, belonging to some Garfield High somewhere in the country, shall henceforth be know as . . .
THE GARFIELD HIGH KNEELING ZOMBIES!!!
Got that right. I took a soccer class in college. I could barely keep up.
“from a cricket term to the latest ESPN soccer hipster jargon?”
We don’t watch ESPN. Watch the paid for soccer channels in our cable package, that yes we pay extra for, regardless whether they’re in English, Spanish, or otherwise.
Couldn’t care less how you want to spin it for the pitch thing. Your rant is more boring than American football itself. Sorry.....
Yawn.........
Promoting identity politics works for the democrats, because they benefit from immigration - both legal & illegal - that serves to deliver power & control based on that particular platform.
OTOH, the NFL suffers from those same exact policies. It has been noted for 20 years now that LA lacks interest in a professional football team because: (a) there are alternatives; and (b) the region is minority majority who have no interest in football. Rather, they follow and support soccer.
Besides which, the NFL was going to suffer declining audiences anyway. This was due not only to differing tastes of our "new" citizens, but also because of younger generation(s) who don't watch TV & don't participate in team sports. Rather, they spend their time on-line playing games, engaged in social media or pursuing active, individual activities. Last, but least, is CTE. In many regards, allowing children to engage in such a violent game with potential long-term mental/physical effects could be construed as child abuse.
Add this all up, and the smart course for the NFL would be to take the approach Trump is advocating & Jerry Jones is supporting. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones launch a (secret) attempt geared towards either taking over or breaking away from the league with other supporting owners. If he fails in this effort, perhaps he may be able to resurrect a rump, partial league in which to stage a comeback.
As the OP stated, while it may be over for we fans, the shit show is only just starting for this huge entertainment goliath and its media allies. And they will lose bigly - if anyone doubts this, then they probably don't realize the groundswell of support Trump candidates will receive in Nov 2018.
“Soccer = Kicking a ball and pretending to be hurt. “
Will agree on too much pretending to be hurt stuff. They hubby and I call those guys “fainting goats”.
What I DO love is when the ref has had enough and issues a yellow card for someone’s fake theatrics. That’s always great :)
I expect any day now....that some fake agenda will start up where Santa Claus will not be coming to houses that are located in red states.
Are you seriously comparing the boring quotient of American football to soccer’s...?
Were you speaking of baseball, which has made itself unwatchable, you’d have a point...otherwise, no...
Well, they won’t call it “pitch” in Spanish!
I wouldn’t watch the NFL at this point if Trump was quarter backing.
Meh, the anthem nonsense is about 8th on the list of reasons I am watching much less NFL.
Another example of weak people with white guilt.
I agree! They can call me in a few years, when the rebuilding is completed, and maybe I’ll take a look. ‘Til then, I’ll be hunting and fishing.
Yes. You are correct.
Goodell reminds me of Comey. Trying to give the appearance of neutrality, while being a confirmed hanger-on of the statist, elitist governing and media cocktail circuit, and politicking like hell for them in the background. Keep the money flowing from both the rednecks he hates and the elites he must suck up to.
Trump simply laid out the bait for them - they will themselves expose their hypocrisy.
Yes high level sports are addictive. I was a subscriber to Sports Illustrated since my high school days (and had to watch the mail carefully to make sure mom didn’t confiscate my Swimsuit Issue), knew all the baseball, football, hockey and basketball stats. I had the Notre Dame logo etched into my desk and a Dallas Cowboys football that was constantly in use. As an adult I never got into sports betting and lived in an area without access to major sports, but was always an avid tv viewer and follower in the newspapers.
It all started to fall apart for me with the conversion of the NBA into an ad for the hip hop music industry. A team like the Larry Bird led Celtics had balance between white and black players (Bird, Kevin McHale, Danny Ainge, Rick Robey - Larry Parrish, Dennis Johnson, Cornbread Maxwell, Tiny Archibald). Now if you go to an NBA game you’re bombarded with hip hop crap at every break in the action, and treated to players staring each other down as if they’re in a range war in a hood in Roxbury.
Next came college ball. When Notre Dame started forgetting that they are a Catholic university, I gave up on my lifelong team. I don’t even check their scores any more.
And now the NFL.
I’m hanging on, for now, to an interest in hockey, which is much harder to abandon given that it’s part of our Canadian DNA. But their recent attempt to crack down on “homophobic” banter in the heat of battle demonstrates that they too will soon do a total cave to the PC police.

The easiest, fastest way for President Trump to kick the NFL, *hard*, is to direct the IRS to change the tax-free status of municipal bonds, which are *supposed* to be used for infrastructure, from being used to subsidize the building of stadiums or as tax incentives to sports teams. Everything that is still legitimate for muni bonds remains tax free. But NOT stadiums or tax breaks.
This does not need to be done retroactively, but means that in the future, the billionaires who own the NFL can still sucker local and state governments to build them stuff and pay them, *BUT BONDHOLDERS WILL HAVE TO PAY INCOME TAXES ON THE INTEREST EARNED FROM THOSE BONDS*.
Which means that such bonds will have to be competitive with commercial bonds. This will cost the billionaires who run the NFL BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
And with this rule change, they will squeal like stuck pigs.”
This, plus a boycott of the games & sponsors, will hit em hard.
