A group of climbers had to be rescued from the top of a mountain after getting so stoned they couldnt get back down. The four walkers got stuck on top of the 3,209ft Scafell Pike in Cumbrias Lake District the highest peak in England.
After successfully reaching the top, however, they found themselves incapacitated from having taken cannabis. Cumbria Police confirmed that mountain rescue and air ambulances had to be scrambled in order to rescue the climbers.

I Arthur C. Clarke's novel Imperial Earth, an important part of the plot is the love one of the main characters has for a beautiful female. They had a whirlwind romance as young people, during which they made love while using an "emotion amplifier," although the details are only vaguely hinted at.
I've long believed that the "emotion amplifier" Clarke alluded to was marijuana.

Rescuing them was interfering with Darwins Law. This would have speeded up cleaning out the gene pool.
