I have wanted to visit Canada for quite a while, and that route sounds ideal. Thank you for sharing these road trips!

It's a good route, and you can really cross the border anywhere near the start of your trip. The National Geographic book I read back in the 1990s laid out the whole trip from the Maritimes to the west coast. The photos alone made you want to get in your car and just start driving.

If you're going to travel in one direction in Canada and the opposite direction in the U.S., I'd always recommend taking the westbound trip north of the border. Speed limits are lower in most of Canada, and the road is a two-lane highway for much of the trip ... so it's a slower trip. When you travel west you are "gaining" daylight hours as you move through each time zone.
