Over that time, the South has gotten less racist and become more Republican.

Now they support socialism, created a whole generation of PCdiots/PervTweps/CommuFascist, and fight against any vestage of governance by constitutional means that has so far escaped their lawlessness.
The new DNC is full of petty horrors and grandiose plans for national suicide.
The Tammany Tiger (TTT) has not changed its stripes but it has broadened it’s horizons and now is well on it’s way to enslaving the entire nation through a combination of welfare, high taxes and deficit spending.
They didn’t just support slavery. They were the slave owners, the overseers, and the buyers, owners, and sellers of humans.
They fought and lost a war to keep slavery, and when they .lost, they started and ran the KKK. They were the terrorizers, beaters, and lynchers of blacks, and perpetuators of separate but equal and created Jim Crow.

Yep, like has been said that one doesn’t see many blacks moving NORTH.........they’re moving SOUTH. More opportunity and less Demonratic Uncle Sam’s Plantation, IMHO.

What you’re overlooking is that in 1860, the Democrats were the party of States Rights, small government and low taxes. At the same time, Republicans were about high taxes, ambitious expansion of federal power and diminution of state’s autonomy.
The Democrats took a hard left turn under the leadership of progressivist William Jennings Bryan and never looked back. For a couple of decades both parties competed for the title of social justice King Mac daddy, then the Republicans began to see the light and moved to fill the void on the right side of the aisle. By the time FDR was elected, the Dems were all socialist, all the time, and the Republicans couldn’t have out-liberaled them if they’d wanted to, so they became the conservative party as a matter of survival.
So if you think there’s some moral link or philosophical equivalence between the Republican Party of 1865 and the one that exists today, you are sorely mistaken.
And today they are sponsoring the New Slavery on the urban plantation. At lest the slave owners had their slaves treated as 3/5 of a person. That’s 60 percent more personhood than today’s progressives grant black people.

Massachusetts was the first slave colony in New England. Its governors owned slaves. They had the first laws legalizing slavery in the new world. Their legislature never passed a law outlawing slavery.
Always fun to read the comic book version of American history. Where exactly do slave owners Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Jackson, Tyler et al fit in all of this?
And what about the Illinois Black Codes and their twins in other northern states? Do those count as Jim Crow laws or are they exempt somehow.
