U.S. first lady Melania Trump met Saturday with Britain’s Prince Harry as she led a delegation to Toronto for the opening of an Olympic-style competition for wounded service members and veterans that he founded several years ago.
Mrs. Trump was heard telling the prince that she had just arrived on a flight from Washington, her first solo trip outside of the United States as first lady. It was also her first time meeting the prince, the White House said.
The first lady also planned to meet Saturday with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, address the nearly 100 U.S. athletes participating in the weeklong Invictus Games and attend the opening ceremony before returning to the White House.

Invictus means “unconquerable” or “undefeated” in Latin.
Two days ago I chatted at length with my British cousin (he and his wife live in Chingford, England, a borough of London). He is a retired Covent Garden opera singer, a Tory and a traditional royalist (and he is a Trumper!)
Of course, I HAD to ask him (LOL) at the end of the conversation what the Brits think about Prince Harry and his serious romance with (oh, oh) former model, half-Irish/Dutch, half-Brazilian black, American divorcee, Meghan Markle.
He told me that Harry is actually the most popular of the younger royals, most of his countrymen really don't give a hoot...and they remain entranced with his amours, they respect his dedicated military service....and they appreciate his tireless rounds of work on behalf of charities and the many other good deeds he performs on behalf of his country. They want him to be happy.
However, neither my cousin, nor anyone, has any idea what the Queen will say or do if and when Harry pops the question and sets a date.......and asks for the Queen's approval and blessing.

I wish Prince Harry well in his choice of a wife, and certainly it would be nice to have an American member of the British Royal Family, but if Harry should promote anti-Trump sentiment and prove antagonistic to the President of the U.S.A., as has been suggested, he will lose the good will of the American People.
I don’t. Not any more.
And I think it’s a good thing Prince William will be king some day and not him. He seems like a real PC airhead.
Just look at those pictures of him slavering over the likes of the Obamas and Justin Trudeau. Tells you all you need to know.

That’s just part of the Royal’s job description. They are the embodiment of the state — of all 16 nations in the Commonwealth Realm. When they “slaver over” Obama — they are, in effect, ‘slavering over’ the USA. It’s high-level diplomacy, personalized. Meanwhile, the Queen is Canada’s Head of State; and Trudeau is merely our (very temporary, one hopes) Head of Government.
While the Royals are ‘celebrities’ in their own right — they are not to be confused with (say) Hollywood airheads. When they meet, e.g. the FLOTUS, they are working diplomats.

I hope she tells him the same thing she told Princess Margaret her sister.
