Fox News Website now looks too similar to the MSM to be a coincidence. Part of a larger goal to move left or simply to conform to a perceived current norm?
Not the same but quite similar...
Anyone else notice this?
New World Order.
Yeah I noticed. What bugs the CRAP out of me is that like WND or Newsmax or WashTimes have a site that you figure out and get used to, then for no apparent reason they add a bunch of crap and you can’t navigate it anymore.
Pisses me off.
The visual changes were needed to get the industry Fake News Seal of Approval. They have standards, dont you know.
Anyone else notice this?
Nope. Haven’t watched cable or MS news since trump was elected.
WEBSITE
My reading comprehension today is in the toilet. The WEBSITES are the same. Hmmmm, i haven’t really noticed. I will definitely take a look. Why the heck would Fox want to look like CNN?
Hope there’s nothing more sinister going on than the fact that FNC hired an industry web designer who’s just recycling old ideas. I know sites are constantly reconfiguring their layouts to entice visitors to spend more time there. At least this layout is easier to look at than some of the horrific bloggy monstrosities that populated the web (even major outlets) a decade ago.
I hope so too. I just found it a bit odd and thought I’d ask this question here. Freepers tend to be a cut above so if there was more to it than what I was seeing I was hoping someone might have an insight I didn’t.
I wouldn’t know. Never go to any of them.
Why the heck would Fox want to look like CNN?
Corporate conformity? I dunno; that's why I'm asking.
Yes; I did use a slang word for 'don't know' and 'cup of coffee'.
It's possible but it would mean you never to go the websites when they are linked to from here and sites like Drudge.
Or sites that have pop ups that fool Firefox or pop up blockers. Grrrrrr.
The layout is probably more of a design thing where it simply works best for news content. The actual stories they push are what matters more.
With regard to Fox, they have been moving more to the left lately, and this is a bit scary because some conservative leaning people who rely on Fox for news and who are not strong minded can be swayed by the propaganda.
In the end, we must make people aware that all mainstream news sites and TV channels are simply ‘Newsertainment’ They are no different than the National Enquirer or TMZ for the news. At least N.E. and TMZ are honest about what they are so I actually have respect for them!
Any news you consume should always be verified against the original source. i.e. one of the headlines today is “Trump threatens to destroy North Korea!” This sounds scary but when you listen to his UN speech, it is right on!
Working in the software industry, I think it has more to do with creating sites that are easier to render across different platforms. People access these sites not just from PCs anymore, but tablets and mobile devices. Used to be you had to have different sites for each platform. Now you can create a single site that will adjust its layout automatically to fit the device.
“Nope. Havent watched cable or MS news since trump was elected.”
We stopped watching the Fake news from ABCNNBCBS about two decades ago.
Then we pulled plug on Fox when they and Kelly planned to lynch him in the first debate.
In June, we cut our cable, and yesterday I convinced 3 friends to do the same. AT&T and Comcast are out of control price wise on the west coast and neither will adjust their rates for senior citizens or anyone now.
Good points and agree; it all has to be taken with a grain of salt since they are in competition for viewers and site clicks.
Great point! I didn’t think about sites working on all the different platforms these days. Very true.
Not just platforms but different browsers as well. Would they fall under the different platforms like PC’s, Mobile’s, Tablets, etc?
Yeah; I too cut the cord long ago. No cable or satellite; only high speed Internet.
You can easily watch Fox News on YouTube if you really want to. It has annoying ads that pop up every once in a while but it is available for free right now.
