Almost three-quarters of Florida Power and Lights 1.1 million customers in Miami-Dade County have no power, and officials are warning it could be weeks before electricity is restored, according to a Sun-Sentinel report.
And temperatures are set to soar: Sweltering air and humidity are expected to broil Miami with a heat index as high as 108 degrees over the next four days, according to AccuWeather...

Every state has air conditioning
Here in Maine we need AC about one week a year.
The spike antlers look to be problematic.
And it ruined Southern Literature.
Yeah, I’m in Washington State where we get cool nights but noticed after insulating my shed how hard it is to get it cooled down at night — even with doors/windows wide open and all kinds of roof ventilation.
You need solar panels / storage batteries / inverter also for more than a few days of electrical outage. Doesn’t have to be a permanent installation. Mine don’t even breath hard keeping the refrigeration going. Just be sure to keep the refrigerator door closed tight!

AND the Southwest although the higher elevations of AZ, NM etc. can use evaporative coolers.
You obviously haven’t been there - some comments are better served by not being served.
I spent two years in an open Army barracks with no A/C in Panama..........There was always high humidity but during the rainy season which was from mid March to December, it was off the charts. If you let your boots sit for a week without rotating them, they would be covered in mildew......
When you went to bed in your bunk, you only needed a sheet to cover yourself. we never needed blankets
