According to Anderson police, the homeowner returned home from work and found a package on his porch had been opened. After walking in, the man saw a sandwich with a bite taken out of it on the kitchen counter. He later noticed women’s clothing scattered on the floor of the bathroom and signs that someone had taken a shower.
The man then made his way to his bedroom and found Watkins in his bed, police said. He woke her up and called the police.

Reminds me of the time a fish jumped in my boat.
When eating out, I usually eat by myself. At first I felt sorry for her, Very quickly I felt sorry for myself.
Random act of kindness gone awry; but a great reminder.

I mean she was clean after just having taken a shower.
A natural blond does not make it ok. It just means she is Caucasian. She takes a shower, she makes a sandwich. She craves a clean bed. My guess is that this is a women who grew up in a middle class or upper middle class household. And she has fallen far through addiction or other mental illness.

I actually had this happen to me. I came home unexpectedly and found a naked woman, asleep, face down, completely uncovered, in MY bed.
My son was also in the bed with her. I did not wake them up. I left, went back to our boat, and called my son on the phone and ordered him to immediately come meet with me. I then proceeded to ream him a new one.

I guess I am trying to say it could be anybody’s daughter. There is no pre-existing stereotype that you could label her with to explain her situation. This girl could come out of anyone’s home no matter how careful, and blue blooded her origin may have been. Her habits, looks and cravings play as a reminder that none of us are above having a daughter or grand daughter in her situation.

The California statutes for adverse possession are very clear. Squatters must not only be occupying the property to gain legal possession of it, but they must also have made the property tax payments for 5 consecutive years to have a claim. Other wise they have no claim to the property and are trespassing since they have no mortgage, leese/rental agreement, or bill of sale to the property. And without those items, and having entered the property illegally without the approval of the owner or lessee, it is breaking and entering. And since she stole food and used the property utilities, it is theft. She won’t be in jail very long, (if at all) as it is minor offense. But it is a trip to the jail if the judge determines it.

A trespasser is entitled to legal ownership of property if his occupation of the property is hostile, actual, open and notorious, exclusive and continuous for a period of years set by state statute. It can be as short as five years when the trespasser pays the property taxes.

Thought the same thing.
The neighbor and my Mom cleaned her up and gave her clothes to wear. She ate Thanksgiving dinner with us. My family treated her like gold.
We took her back to Madison and called an authority to find out where she belonged. It turned out she was the daughter of a rich family. Her “boyfriend” had her on meth. She had been in rehab, but escaped to be with him. The authorities came and got her.
A while later we met with her. She seemed very sweet and nice. We told her about Jesus and led her in a prayer of salvation. Seeing her again every once in a while in years that past she was doing very well. Praise The LORD!
