While we are watching Irma we should also keep an eye on North Korea. The media are like children, short attention span and can be easily distracted.
President Trump on the other hand is a master of multitasking and timing. This will be an interesting weekend.
Once again I am thankful Hillary is no closer to the white house then writing excuses on why she lost.

I never said that they wouldn’t. The problem is at the receiving end. Communist arrogance and an incompetent bureaucracy bring a layer of resistance to aid that no other island has. Problems that are already being worked out now on the other islands can take days to get any action on in Cuba.

This new track is far west from original evacuations. I’m wondering which prediction has been most consistent. If I had to choose, that would be the one I’d trust the most.
Irma is smacking right into high pressure cold winds that are trending southwest. Overnight she traveled almost due west, wind speeds died down significantly, and internal temperatures of Irma cooled. The NHC is being kind of quiet about this, probably not wanting to give hope and end up with egg on their face. I’m going out on a limb to say that it looks to me like Irma will continue west, or even southwest, and will not hit Florida. You heard it here first. I’m often wrong, but never in doubt.
I have been wondering about the continuing westward track.
Are these forecasters _certain_ it will turn northwest and then north?
Meanwhile Cuban is getting hammered.
They are using models. Can they really model anything as complex as weather systems? They are wrong half the time. Almost no better than a coin toss.
