What did Hurricane Irma say to Raoul Castro?
“I’ve got my eye on you, you commie bastard!”
the dreamer hurricane?
Hurricane category question.
Katrina was categorized as a Category 5. Irma, although significantly much larger in size and yet to arrive, has also been reported to be a 5.
Not being familiar with how the designations are determined, why would the two separate storms be categorized identical if Irma is soooooooo much larger and potentially more powerful?
Cat 5 is the highest on the scale. Irma at one point was listed as a high Cat 5 (185mph)
They both have been in the top category for wind speed, but a difference in size—as well as miles per hour movement, moisture available for pickup, etc.—is also significant.
That is why they keep warning FL now how much bigger Irma is than Andrew was.
Cat 4 is the new Cat 5?
Jose is supposed to turn northeast in a fishhook maneuver long before it gets anywhere close to the USA. Maybe Bermuda might be threatened.
Irma now 130mph, only 1mph above Cat 3 - is latest update.....island of Cuba is sucking the strength out of it, but it will certainly re-strengthen once back out over warm water.......
Good one!
The Saffir-Simpson scale used to categorize hurricanes is based on sustained wind speeds, not size, per se.
when it rains it pours....prayers for all involved
...and I am bringing the kid. (Jose)
Computer models show Jose staying out to sea way off the east coast of Florida (for about a week) affecting nobody but the fish.

advance the date a day at a time, you’ll see.
Irma petering out. Media now putting their hopes on Jose. More disappointment in store for them.
First “Irma la Douche”, and now “giving them the Jose”.
Yesterday those same computer models said Irma was going to go up the east coast of Florida.
