Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good
RIP
First Glen Campbell, then Troy Gentry, now this.
While he was on Hokkaido, Japan his mother died and Don got leave to go home for the funeral. While home, he married his HS sweetheart. After Don made it big, I often wondered whether he was still married to her, but never could get any info.
Don W was very underappreciated....a true talent...
he was here in my locale about a year ago and I couldn't make it....now, there is no "next time"....
Used to be in one of his opening acts, late 70’s- early 80’s. Great guy, so relaxed and down to earth. Clint Eastwood was similar, no star attitude, very cordial. But there was an edge under the surface with Clint.
Living on Tulsa Time was popular when I was in 8th grade.
My crush and I both loved Don Williams.
We used to walk around singing I Believe In You and Tulsa Time. We’d call each other on the phone and listen to his songs together.
oh I Believe in You and ‘Til the Rivers Run Dry still tweak my heartstrings - big time. Godspeed, Don Williams. you left a wonderful legacy and touched a lot of people.
Very nice - I’m a musician also and have been a DW fan for a long time.
Slow tempos, basic arrangements yet the honesty and feeling in his work built a huge fan base.
Oh no. Loved us some Don Williams. Voice so smooth it could put a baby to sleep. RIP Don.........;(
My favorite song of his has always been Some Broken Hearts Never Mend,
“Good Ole Boys like me”. Greatest Don Williams song ever. We will miss him.
I was just thinking about Don Williams the other day. I didn’t know if he was alive or had passed and now I find out sadly, that he has left us. One other thought that I had was basically along the lines of - we need another Dawn Williams today. Or rather, where is another Don Williams? He was one of my favorite country singers back during those days, Charlie Rich being another.
